Once again, the search function fails me.  So apologies if this has been brought up before.

I have found 3 very fun cover art for the French edition of Prince of Nothing.  Not sure what's going on with the first cover -- is that supposed to be the Nonman?  Somehow I imagine him to be much bulkier than this.  Also uncertain about the second one: it can't be Kellhus since he's blonde.  It's not Achamian since the picture is of a warrior.  A bit too nicely dressed for Cnauir.  Proyas?  Love the third one.  Exactly what Esmenet should look like.  Gorgeous, sharp eyed, the background seemingly hints at Andianmine Heights after she has become empress...  Also: weird translation for the title of the third book -- not at all Thousandfold Thought.

There were some entertaining ones in the TSA related art and stuff. thread.

Not these though. That third one is supposed to be Kellhus, I think, and it is fucking awesome, if completely unrelated to any description.

Very cool. I'd think the second one must be Kellhus, even if he lacks the blond hair. No other character is really important enough to warrant being on the cover that would also fit that appearance? Proyas I suppose is the only other logical option, as you say, but that seems like an odd choice. And that third one is definitely awesome. It could be a Nonman, as there's almost no description of them in the first book from what I remember, other than that they're "inhuman" looking. Has a very Tolkien-esque vibe.

I want to say the third one is Mekeritrig because of the cloak.

Hmmm.  Now that I think about it, I suspect the conversation between the publisher and the artist went something like this:

"What do you mean reading the book?  We don't have time for that!  Ok , for the first book, let's get 'em hooked.  So something really freaky and weird.  Valley of the uncanny and all that.  Second book, your standard medieval warrior, with a backdrop of some generic towers and shit -- probably that's what the title refers to, not that I've read it.  Third book, get some smoking hot chick on the cover.  You know the type: a little seductive, a little mysterious, a hint of danger, just a little skin but nothing too provocative -- the type the nerds go nuts over."

 :D

those're in reverse order, so I think the third one is Mekeritrig because of the cloak.

The cloak's a good point, combined with the setting and inhuman appearance, I definitely think that's supposed Mek. Even though the artwork is cool, it's unfortunate that they couldn't have gone for a more true-to-canon appearance...I've always wanted see a good Nonman rendition (along with some Sranc, and the Inchoroi from the end of TWP).

Seriously, has anyone even tried to draw an Inchoroi?

I've thought about it, but there's so little to go on. I mean basically all we know is:

Tall
Leathery wings folded into scythe-like shapes
Clam-shaped head with a watery membranous face inside

I've yet to read WWL and I only skimmed False Sun, are there more descriptions there? I know I've heard people talk about "alligator heads" or something?

EDIT: Well, and the pendulous phallus, but that's a given at this point.

I love how the art style ties the non-men into trees. I know they're supposed to be bald but that plant-like hair is pretty nice.  Props to the artist for picking up all the tree imagery in the prologue, and in particular in that scene.

I thought non men were bald? Not twig haired?

I'm inclined to roll with Truth Shines on that particular one.

Get rid of the twig hair though...

Well...I'm a bit disappointed with the artwork to be honest.

Oh well...
