Title: [TUC Spoilers] Glimir vs Alamir
Post by: Wolfdrop on July 07, 2017, 03:58:56 pm
Only just received my copy today and I'm flicking through the Encyclopaedic Glossary and noticed that "Alamir" is listed as the ensorceled sword of High-King's and can half mammoths. It seems to line up exactly with Glimir's description in TGO as wielded by Celmomas but I can't see any mention of Glimir here.

Is Bakker just being a nuissance again and not deciding on which name or spelling he wants to use, I can live with Allosian/Allosium but this triggers my OCD reading of the books majorly. >:(

Anyone else found similar things and wants to mourn with me.

I actually weep for the lack of editing the in the last few books, really.

At one point in TUC Tekne is spelled Tekhne as well.

Couldn't agree more. I can't get onboard with the whole "historical inaccuracy" thing and just see it as poor and lazy editing.

The Allosian/Allosium example there happens within a line of other, changing in the space of an entry.

Doesn't detract from the story but it's annoying nonetheless.

No, I actually like it, when it is actually about disputed interpretations of history...

But when it's just a random misspelling/revision error, it's bothersome.

maybe they made more than one sword with the same functionality. We hear of 6 swords i believe with the flame power thing.

The ARC I have literally has the body of an email from one employee of his publisher to another printed in the book's text.

These things annoy me to know end, I still hope for a better edited version of the entire series in 10 years time.

Probably a pipe dream.

Yeah this was especially weird to me. Had me wondering if it was on purpose for some reason lol, but I hadn't noticed any of the others people mentioned here in my first re-read.

Proyas had gone grey, hair and beard by the first chapter of TJE, now his hair's black again.

Why do I notice all this  :-*
