Depends on how heavy the "coffer" is and how strong the cable is.  It's possible that it is dangling off the Upright Horn.

There were scouts, the Scylvendi took them out.

It is but that doesn't mean it was done successfully. Ajokli doesn't seem very trustworthy to me.

That's true.  We're a little short of other information to compare with Kellhus's claims.

Polygraph's are really unreliable.  What they actually detect is stress and nervousness so they're fairly good at spotting lies but they also generate a lot of false positives.  There's good reasons why they are not admissible in court.

I'll make my final interpretative decision once I get there in the canon artifact but as far as my reading goes so far I *still* attribute Kellhus' dialogue regarding "seeing himself" in the Inverse Fire and making "pacts with the Pit" to Ajokli.

Perhaps, but it wasn't in boldface and avoiding damnation by pacting with the Pit is a very, very Dunyain thing to do.

I see no reason to think he conquers hell besides his stated intent to do so. Things didn't go as planned.

He used the past tense and appeared to truthful in his disputations with the Consult.  On the other hand, things did not go as planned and those words did come out of the mouth of a Dunyain.  We're lacking on details for obvious reasons.  Maybe he's fodder in Hell, but he might also be hunger.

Kellhus conquers Hell (or perhaps has always ruled Hell).
Does he?

Until we get scenes taking part in the Outside, we don't know for sure either way.  We don't know for sure that Serwa and Kosoter are Ciphrang and not just really damned.

Saubon's death in TGO was heartbreaking. "Don't listen to him!" indeed.

I really liked that glorious, damaged bastard.  It was a great and terrible moment, with more than a little foreshadowing for poor Proyas.

Kellhus conquers Hell (or perhaps has always ruled Hell).  The others are devoted to things (like HATE) other than just dodging damnation (although Kosoter clearly has that on his mind too).   If its a crapshoot, if the odds are being full of hate is just going to make you prime food in the Outside, then it changes nothing.  Damnation is still the likely result.  There's another option, in that the Inverse Fire could be poor at distinguishing between ruling Hell on a black iron throne and burning in Hell as Ciphrang food.

Damnation appears to be the rule, with oblivion and salvation (leaving aside the question of how good salvation really is) being comparatively rare exceptions.

When the Ciphrang kills the Nonman and cannot find his soul afterward, i immediately knew that the Nonman had found oblivion. I dont even think its in doubt. Its possible. Even though, throighout the whole series we're told that it is not. This would also go back to Akka and CnaĆ¼ir's talk about madness and it leaking in and Kellhus saying thats not how it works, he thought there wasnt any cracks. Apparently, there are. Did anyone else get that he went to Oblivion also?

I thought it was a Sranc, not a Nonman, and therefore soulless.  Another passage to check, I guess.

Regarding Aurang's laser antics, using a longdistance weapon is nice, but apparently not sufficient. However, was it Aurang that wielded that laser? Wasn't it an Erratic or another?

Sure an Erratic was the triggerman, but it was apparent to me the Horde-General was running that part of the show.

73
If Aurang is dead, Bakker really should have given us at least an awesome 1 full page sorcerous battle. Instead he gets one-shotted and pwned by Kellhus.

I get that Kellhus is fucking powerful. But Aurang has been around for ages and fought countless battles - he should put up more fight than Meppa.

Which I guess is par for the course with Bakker. He is a master of big picture battlefield description but has very few good individual duel scenes that I can recall.

I have to disagree.  We have no reason to believe that Aurang is going to stand up to the Metagnosis.  We do however, get pages of him murdering tons of Schoolmen and mortally wounding the Witch Most Holy with red hot laser death.  That's not a trivial accomplishment.

Zeum.

The Osthwai Mountains although the eastern end presents problems.

Back through the Gates to Eanna or through Jekk.

Nilnamesh.

Okay i'm done. Zeum seems the only safe option but realistically mountains don't seem to present problems for Sranc as the Yimaleti was described as their mother/cradle or something.

The Sranc can live in mountains just fine, that doesn't mean that they're good terrain for them to fight on.  The Bronzemen of Far Antiquity enjoyed considerable success against the Sranc of the Yimaleti until they were disbanded.

If that were the case it seems like missing something obvious. It's not a coincidence he's in the Golden Room at that time. A skin spy found him and brought him to its Consult masters. Kelmomas/Samarmas, in fear of his/their/its life, tries to be useful like he tried with Kellhus and mentions how the powers that be can't see him. The Dunyain keep him there as a contingency, a calculated risk. If what he's saying is true they don't have to contest with their brother, they can simply dispose of him and use Kelmomas/Samarmas.

We don't even have to go that far.  He's an Anasurimbor.  He's valuable enough to keep around as a back up even if he reveals nothing.
