That reminds me of the guy who wanted around 5K not to write an RPG, but to write about RPG's. He was totally like "Oh, I really want to do this - but I need to know it's worth it", with the kinda contradiction inherrent in that. I think he got the money as well.

Just seems a bit much. I mean, to argue against myself, I get that relying on artists to actually care enough to produce to some degree what they care about even if they weren't paid - well, that can end up being exploited by the capitalist system. But here it seems like only if they get a wack of dough will they do it? When it gets to that point, why would anyone bother going in blind as to their capacity? Blind faith is for the enthusiastic artist.
