Hey guys,

Was thinking about this recently and thought I would start a topic.

So which of your favourite novels would you like made into a film and for what reason?

I have quote a few that I would like to see visually but I will start with just the one - I nominate Rendezvous with Rama. I think it would be a phenomenally good looking visual, the interior of the craft with the "polar seas" and the great towers, the octospiders and the metallic sharks would be very interesting. Film would be slow moving with little action and stay true to the novel - I think the size and scale of Rama would allow some 2001: Space Odyssey type exterior shots and the interior could be fantastic.

Morgan Freeman has been trying to get this off the ground for a long time - hopefully this will eventually be made.

Hmm... to start of slow then, as it is a difficult topic - not to be taken without consideration, SR - I'll say I'd like to see one-off Orson Scott Card short adaptions like have been done with Philip K. Dick's short fiction (basically, Hollywood SF's granary: Blade Runner, Total Recall, Minority Report, Paycheck, A Scanner Darkly, Next, The Adjustment Bureau, and, of course, Total Recall's reboot).

I would also sacrifice at least one of my fingers (not a thumb) to create it myself.

A lot of awesome, but a lot of terribly gruesome scenes. Don't know if I could watch a PSS screen adaption, but what a great book.

I would love to see "Nova swing" by M John Harrison made into a movie by David Lynch. Or maybe a collaboration between Lynch and Chris Morris.
The overall strangeness and level of absurdity would suit both Lynch and Morris very much. The characters too, with their unpredictability and weird motivations.

The main character is named Vic Serotonin:) Such a great name!, and a perfect fit for a miserable character:)
