The Unholy Consult / Re: [TUC Spoilers] Glossary findings

One of the entires about a Nonman has a line in there to the effect of "when he grew Tall" - to me implying this isn't a sure thing to happen and that its unusual... Any idea on the mechanics?
Off the top of my head, meaningful things have more impact on the physical in Earwa than in our world. So the greatness of feats might make those who accomplish them physically great. In this instance, Tall.

AFAIK there is no reference to a Tall Quya, could be that non magic Non-Men that achieve greatness become Tall? Quya being a hereditary caste, kinda makes sense that none of their mages manifest this trait. Lemme know if you know of a giant mage though!

This might just be a chicken or the egg type of thing.  If you were 10 feet tall, would you go be a scholar, or would you get into the NFL or MMA and go beat people's asses?  Being a Tall Quya seems like it would just be a waste of real-estate, unless they developed some crazy battle magic for some good old up close ground and pound.  All the magic in this series seems to be about keeping distance between yourself and your opponent.

Or maybe the genetics of being Tall just doesn't let you see the Onta.  Who knows...

His comment on the last line of the book was referring to the Unholy Consult's end,  not the No-God.

And the screen "Death comes swirling down.'

I'm thinking vast, open-world, ancient Kunuric North, heading out with some scalpoli(misspelled?).  Possibly perma-death, and you take over another of the scalpoli?  Get too low on dudes, and you have to abandon the Slog, taking you back to a "safe" town, to recuit new dudes and start over(with what you brought back intact, of course)?  Some will be traitors, or skin-spies, etc, etc.
I think it would be more unique to be a Nonman hunting for memories of tragedy.

OOOOO...or it could be a game mode...Erratic Mode?

Misinterpreting a dream is one thing, but actually SEEING something happen, and hear the words come out of people's mouths is another.  Achamian is clearly having dreams that are completely different than those experienced by the other Mandati, and trying to under-cut that my crying "misinterpreting" is a sleazy move.  I get it that Bakker is telling us not to 100% take everything Achamian deduces from the dreams as fact, but what he is seeing cannot really be argued with, unless there is a deeper deception.  It was another classic Bakker side-step.

And I still want to see Seswatha living inside Achamian in the Second Apocalypse, like the Dragon living inside Rand al'Thor at the end of the Wheel of time.  Two people, by really one person...and seeing has how I have hit on this before, could be perhaps see Achamian finally get some o' them Meta-Gnostic Cants with Seswatha backing him up?

Or perhaps what they did in pursuit of their goal was the damning part.  The path walked vs the goal and all that.

Atrithau's fall would probably end up mimicking the fall of Sauglish.

The implication here is Mimara's True God is the one divinity that is not blind by definition, but turning the Judging Eye on the No-God would be like turning it on your car.

I can see that, but she looked at a Chorae, then THROUGH it, right?  Maybe, if she had had time, she could have done the same to the No-God?

That whole scene with her and the Chorae fascinates me, and I remain confident that it will be a major piece of what comes next, either activating ALL of the Chorae in the Whirlwind, or using it to undo the No-God itself for good, with no chance of Resuption.  Kind of like a metaphysical adblocker, or anti-virus.  The Heron Spear quarantined it, but somebody's gotta do SOMETHING more permanent, because Earwa can win a thousand times over a million years, but the No-God must only win the once.

If you guys haven't noticed yet, I tend to ramble.  Apologies.

And now the more I think about it, all the Souls games are like Serwa or Achamian walking through the ruins of the Ancient North.

And that gives us the next game in the Souls Series:  Scholar of the First Sin:  The Kuniuric Defilement

Opening Line: 'War, as a rule, falls within the compass of history.'

Part one:  The Slog of Slogs, on the road to ruin.

Time to drink some beer and make a video game, ladies.

So...new plan.  We ALL go to Zaudunyanicon, corner the man and make.  Him.  Tell.

I already told old Brandon Sanderson that if he doesn't step it up with his Stormlight Archive writing pace I was gonna have to start leaving poops in his mail box.  Bakker can get the same treatment, just in person.  Seven books is long enough.  Time for some strait answers.

Long shot here, but anybody own a polygraph machine?

All Mimara saw was the black coffin, right?  is that significant, the fact that there was no judgement of the No-God?

Can I be an enormous philistine and recommend music from a videogame?

I dunno, this whole thing got stuck in my head during the Golgotterath segments.

You may, good sir, you may indeed!  Thinking about it, the Dark Souls/Demon Souls/Bloodborne atmospheres lend themselves quite well to this series in general...slogging through the abandoned Nonman Mansion?  yup, that checks.

And speaking of Bloodborne, I think I have Cnaiur's theme...I humbly submit 'Hunt You Down'

Man, from the Golden Room scenes on, I was basically in a state of mental hyperventilation,  with my brain going, 'ohmygodohmygodwhatthefuckishappeningWHATTHEFUCKISGOINGOOOONNNN??!!'  but I was all like, 'shut the fuck up and finish the goddamned book , stupid brain!'  Then I finished it, slept, woke back up, and started dissecting.  It was all crazy, and the fact that we see him first, then don't see him, then get the flashback as to what happened...lots of mental gymnastics going on.  His confirmation that it was a hologram was very nice of him, I thought, seeing as how he can be pretty cagey in his answers.

If it's torn out using the Diamos, then we might be on to something here.

Yeah at some point something has to be taken at face value.  The conversations we get between dunyain, imo, are the closest we ever get to the truth about what's happening.

If that conversation was truth, then why would Kellhus talk about turning the world itself into a hell for them to feast on, when Bakker specifically said he intended to save the world?

I hate arguing, but I just feel like I HAVE to ask the contrary question here.
