The Warrior-Prophet / Caraskand Battle... Where is the sorcery?
« on: June 24, 2018, 11:19:29 pm »
Finished a relisten of the audiobook, TWP.

At the end of The Warrior Prophet we get a summary going over the final battle. There is no mention of the Scarlet Spires taking the field nor mention of any Cisharum. Eleäzaras does concede to the demands of the Inrithi earlier to march with them since they have even begun to eat their own texts.

Is this just a oversight on Bakker's part to emphasize the "secret of battle?" Even one or two Cisharum could have absolutely destroyed the newfound conviction from the Inrithi without the Scarlet Spires.

Are we just doing one image or is the goal to catalog an entire chapter with a dozen or so images?

Lets get some more God's and Godesses, it feels like we only have been acquainted with Ajokli, Yatwer, and Gilgaol. I want Teshkkaman the Goddess of Dunyain rebirth and clonetime, for Kellhus of course, or something similar.

Achamian is mentioned as being the only known Wizard, a sorcerer without a School. What about Pafaras the captain of the Stone Hags? Apparently he was scourged from the Mysunsai and run off into the wilderness. And he was specifically outlawed by the Empire so it's not like his continued existence was unknown. Wouldn't he fit the criteria?

"The Wizard retraced his footsteps..." pretty sure before TGO and that 20 year gap he would have been the only notable one. Im assuming there were others if only in brief times or lower ranking sorcerers. Practically all of the Mysunsai are wizards in a sense.

Any times Akka is the "only" wizard post TTT is from or for Achamians POV.

General Q&A / Is There Grace or Forgiveness in TSA / Earwa?

Relistened to Inraus point of view in the audiobook and feel the time spent with him is important somehow, his inner turmoil and "doubts."

Would the Gods spare any judgement on Akka for the act of sparing Inrau from the Mandate, even for those few short years?

Can Yatwer save souls that give to her or at least temper eternal damnation?

General Earwa / Modern Day Times With A Dunyain
« on: March 08, 2018, 01:30:29 am »
Who would be the hardest person for Kellhus to crack in today's culture, and how long would it take using normal channels? ... Meaning, he couldn't just abduct the person and have his way with them.

I'm thinking something along the lines of replacing an interviewer, (if politician,) and try to break down that politicians false facade.

I'm thinking Bakker himself, or Ted Cruz. I'd give Cruz about 10 minutes before Kellhus would have him spouting out Truth Shines, and Bakker about an hour, coming to grips with the idea of the Dunyain being real.

Nah lived there for 2 years though being a lions/packers fan, and hated the Pats. Then after watching them win again and again, and every fucking year they are 14-2, 15-1 etc I grew to appreciate their professionalism and franchise. And now Tom Brady and Bella have 5 titles

PLOT: I would like to see a few POV from characters from different nations that experience TNG's awakening. People forming alliances around whether Kellhus was a *false prophet or a martyr. I would like Akka Mimara and Esmi to have some meaningful impact on the rest of the story. I want to see TNG destroy a city or nation and have a POV character flee that event.

GENERAL: More reflections of events and characters causing events rather than larger than life things just... happening. Not that the latter is worse, but PoN felt more grounded.

If the face covers showed one character from the series gradually grow more mature and reflect bits from the story I would totally be down with that, and I assume that was the intention. Can't believe its just a photoshopped stock photo passed down.

The Unholy Consult / Re: Did Kellhus find Oblivion?
« on: September 28, 2017, 06:04:09 am »
But Bakker said that Kellhus is dead but not done. So it’s unlikely that he has found oblivion if he’s still a player.

My cheeky "+1 8)" was only because profgrape and I were talking about it off-forum.

I'll plant my flag again at Bakker's quote meaning that Kellhus' machinations aren't yet played out. Kellhus is dead, dead, as far as I'm concerned.

As much as I hate agreeing with Madness, I agree with Madness; Kellhus might be off the board but the Thought is alive and well.

He may be dead - but what now with him? Is he food for the gods?
kellhus will be eaten by the gods but have discovered a way to poison and impregnate them, from there he will burst out chestburster style and the gods will be hunted one by one by the true Hunger
