Very sad. Turns out I started reading Left Hand of Darkness right around her time of death. The 40th anniversary edition has a beautiful forward from her about writings, books, fiction, and scifi.

Lathe of Heaven - also an incredible title for a book. She had a knack for spiffy titles :) .

shall we try that commemoration again?

An unflinching radical has died. A literary colossus has died. A comrade, a giant of modern letters has died.
He himself seems to fashion himself something of a revel lol, but he does make a good point.

Earthsea is much recommended by me. I will be sure to try out her other works. RIP.
