I don't like this list. The concept behind it is inherently flawed tbh.

wow i've read 9 of the first 11, not often that happens in lists, band of brothers i have on old vhs tape. That Roman honor one looks alright too.

Well, agreed and I bet the author of this list would agree with you. It's more of discussion on books that have impacted our society and captures the history of the intellect in a fun way. The Sound and the Fury would have been at the top of the list if I were designing one. I think the list is valid, but not accurate if that makes any sense ( no list would be ).

Good choice, Tao. No Faulkner at all on this list; bad omission. I really like "Absalom, Absalom".  Two books by Kerouac? Two too many, imho, but certainly one would be plenty. At least the Nichomachean Ethics made the cut; surprised the hell out of me.

Well, specifically for you Redeagl, I imagine many of these books would not have the same impact given your background, culture, etc.
Might be more appropriately titled "books americans should read". There's nothing particularly unique about this list. Though I haven't read many of them the titles appear on a lot of '100 books to read', at least those lists that are curated by white american males lol.
