I'd really like to know if Cnaiür is in fact actually dead for good.  I base this on nothing more than a lack of a black and white "Cnaiür IS DEAD" sign and a mad hope for his return.

I just finished Promise of Blood by Brian McClellan and I'm moving onto The King of Thorns by Mark Lawrence.  Promise of Blood was so much better than I expected it to be.  It was reminiscent of Abercrombie's First Law series.

I'm about a quarter of the way through Peter Newman's debut novel The Vagrant.  It's something quite new to me, post apocalyptic world filled with Cthulhu-esque demons, told from a 3rd person present tense.  To top it off, the main character is a mute.  It's very strange, but definitely reveals the talent of a writer who can make that work and entrance you to keep reading into the wee hours of the night.  Just in case you needed some extra incentive to read, here's the cover art:

Holy hell that is awesome.  And yes, I'd like the pages flying out of the book, but I'm trying to decide between just one symbol on each page or a collection of "half-drawn" symbols in the background with a highly detailed main symbol in the foreground.  So for TSA I like the idea of a sketched army in the background, kind of hazy and rough sketched, with a banner bearing the circumfix symbol in the foreground highly detailed and in color.

Cash seems to be my biggest adversary at the moment... -_-

Night of Knives you should be able to knock out in a week or less.  The writing is a step backwards since its Esslemont and his first in the series, but overall its pretty enjoyable.  Temper is a good new lead, very fun to watch.  The book starts off extremely slow, but there is a lot going on behind the scenes which changed my opinion of a few characters in other books.

Oh I definitely have, yours was actually the type I was looking for.  I guess I'd be more needing help creating a more specific visual layout.

I have a rather ambitious idea/hope that I'd like to kick around and get some input from the artists on here.  I'm looking to get a tattoo depicting the various series that I've read using the symbols from each.  At the moment I'd like to include TSA, First Law, Lord of the Rings, Malazan, and WoT (with plans for more in the future).  My current idea is to have a page for each series that is covered in incomplete sketches or random bits of phrasing from that series with a particular symbol fully detailed on the page (kind of like a page in an artist's sketchbook).  For TSA I was thinking something like the circumfix in detail surrounded by sketches of chorae or artwork from the cover.  These pages would then be overlapping each other starting from the right side of my chest, going over my shoulder and onto my back and arm.

I'm envisioning something like this with sketches mixed in with high detail colored drawings:

I'm open to ideas and if anyone is interested, I'd be willing to pay for design work.  I figured posting on here would catch the attention of an artist who's actually read some of these series and would make communicating designs easier.  Obviously something like this is going to cost a fortune to get fully done, so I'd be getting each one done some time apart.  Any input or ideas that I could bring to a tattoo artist are most welcomed.

If anyone is a fan of Hollywood Undead, their new album "Day of The Dead" is amazing.  Blasting on a loop currently.

I'm Ryan, I was doing my best to entertain and still give the issue a positive review.  I rather enjoyed it.

If anyone is interested, there's a site that does a chapter by chapter reread of the series.  It's very useful to go back through and find things you didn't notice or there wasn't enough information on.  Basically it's a short summary of the chapter, then a gentleman and lady's commentary on that portion.

Looking through the lists here, you guys seem to have the same taste in anime as I do.  I'd like to add that I've almost completed Hellsing OVA/Hellsing Ultimate (it can be called both).  It is a redux of the anime that is closer to the original Manga, much like Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood.  One of the darkest, incredibly captivating anime I've ever seen.  There are 10, 1 hour long episodes and I'm going to be watching number 10 tonight.  I would highly recommend it, very thrilling, very bloody, and the English dub is praised as one of the best.  The voice acting of the main character "Alucard" is fantastic.
