The Unholy Consult / Re: The Unholy Consult Giveaway

Meppa is 'conditioned' and helps Kelly get back to the Ordeal in record time, using the Water.

EDIT: I see that one's been used ... hmm... As Serwa, Sorweel and Moenghus escape Ishterebinth, the surviving Non-men march on a final, doomed battle against the Ark, led by the Tall.

Author Q&A / old drafts, maps, etc.
« on: June 24, 2016, 03:50:30 am »
After it's all said and done, are you planning on releasing any more old maps (like you did a few months ago) or, even better, old drafts of TSA? It would be very interesting to examine your original attempts to craft the story. Perhaps some D&D material from back in the day? I'm sure there would be individuals (including myself) that would actually make the trip to help you archive this stuff.

Prediction: The demons Kellhus has tied to his girdle are means by which he can capture and devour souls himself--a makeshift No-God device giving him heightened access to the Outside and elsewhere (the fire-looking spell).

I've always thought that the amount of conjecture and crackpot that RSB inspires here and the other forum are enough for a dozen enterprising philosophy-fantasy writers to mine from. If I only had the time to assemble by copy-past a catalogue of theory and speculation from 2004 until now... it would be an amazing resource to compare/contrast what might be with what will eventually be revealed.

I'm one of the circled! I actually didn't know how many numbers I was at, this was pretty fun.

Prediction: we will learn that the No-God was actually the God, funneled into the carapace, and the God's presence on Earwa meant that souls went right into Big Daddy's belly rather than be sifted through the Outside and its numerous parasites/Ciphrang. (oh yeah, the Ciphrang being basically tapeworms in the digestion tract of the God, I dig that...)

5
Question: what's Kelmomas's role in the overall series / second series?
Prediction: the Gods are 'priming' him to become their patsy after daddy is slain by the WLW - he is going to be the main antagonist

6
Question: why does the Ark seem so small by the mathematical calculations RSB provides yet is described as enormous in the text (taking twenty years for the Nonmen to spellunk in their Inchorai extermination)?

Prediction: Sorweel will "save" Serwa from Nonmen affections with his trusty Chorae.

7
Prediction: the Nail of Heaven is a portal of some type, and the 'flash' that occurred three years prior to the Ark's descent was its arrival to this particular realm of the universe, the 'promised world.'

8
Prediction: Scranc meat will 'condition' the remaining survivors of the GO, and internal atrocities will start mounting long before Dagliash...

9
Prediction: Kellhus's son is on a mission to kill his father, or will attempt to kill his father once he discovers that the Consult wiped out Ishual because of daddy's challenge.

10
Prediction: Kellhus already has the Heron Spear.

11
Prediction: Kellhus will 'disappear' after the battle of Dagliash, just like he skipped out on Shimeh until the very end.

Question: Will Achamian dream more of S.'s 'secret history'?

12
Prediction: Serwa, Moe. and Sor. are going to fulfill some replication of an ancient tragedy in the Nonmen history, to help them 'remember'--probably the seduction of the Nonmen wife/wives that led to the Anasurimbor dynasty.

General Earwa / Re: The Blasphemer's Guide to Blaspheme

Excellent idea. There are so many interesting theories and interpretations that have emerged over at westerns; compiling them into a catchall thread is great for those of us getting ready to embark on a re-read or trying to initiate new readers with the value in RSB's work.

Question -- although there is no Kelly POV, do we at least get some sort of clue as to his 'shortest path?'

Hey Madness- thanks for answering the questions -- one more...

You floated the idea of two books because you feel there were sections that perhaps needed more attention / more detail. Is there a natural place in TUC for this split to happen? In other words, is the book structured so that there could be a split and it would work to the overall advantage of the series?
