H, have you read A Land Fit for Heroes, by Richard Morgan? Its a great series with a lot of great characters. Its really, really Grimdark and has maybe the next most horrific scene behind Inchoroi raping that guy in front of family. Morgan is right behind Bakker on my list of best fantasy authors.

My new theory is based around the fact that Kellhus has made a Inverse Fire, he shows it to Proyas. When he looks into it he see's everyone of the Ordeal staring into their own campfires. I thought to myself "oh that kool" and kept moving on but now thinking kellhus could read the faces and thoughts of everyone.
We all been just stared at fire, these men are staring kellhus unknowingly in the face. He put people into trances before but im wondering what the Meta-Cants of Compulsion would be like when done on a mass scale.
He may have the ability to just take mens wills away from them like The NO-God does with the Scranc...
Hes the NO-NO-God!

So are you saying he's using the mega-Cants of Compulsion to read minds through his "Inverse Fire"? I just thought that was a touch of scrying. Keeping an eye on the Ordeal and such.

Read minds? No warp minds. Remember Xinnemas (Proyas' marshal) a normal can't of compulsion changed him down to his soul. A Meta version would be something to rival that of the IF. Maybe instead of the cant making you doing something, "you" whole heartily believe what you've been told. A endless drive to do something without the fear of damnation or even knowing you been hexed.

Aaaah, I see where you're going now. Yes, it seems exactly like something Kellhus would do. Also, maybe the Whelming plays some part in this too.

Yea, I believe your right, right and wrong ways of believing. Sorry, my bad. Anyway, as I said, its most likely that no one religion has it all right. Bits and pieces here and there maybe.

Bakker has said on record, that there is one true way to worship/believe on Earwa, correct? All signs point to Fanim being the true religion, IMHO. Who knows, maybe no one religion on Earwa has it all right.

OK, so I came across this passage while in another discussion and would like to know your guys thoughts.

Quote
Then, in the empty interval between breaths, the Judging Eye opens. For a time she gazes in stupefaction, then she weeps at the transformation. Her hair cropped penitent short. Her clothing fine, but with the smell of borrowed things. Her belly low and heavy with child … And a halo about her head, bright and silver and so very holy. The encircling waters darken for its glow. She convulses about breathless sobs, falls clutching her knees for anguish … For she sees that she is good—and this she cannot bear.

OK, we've deduced through Kellhus and Serwe that when halo's are seen it because of the belief that one is holy. Kellhus doesn't see his own halo's til much later when he finally believes that he is, or crazy, take a pick. Anyway, when Mimara see her reflection and she bears a halo, its the Judging Eye/God(?)  looking at her.  Why is she holy? When so much has been stated that women's spiritual value is less and not worthy, we see a direct contradiction of that through the Judging Eye. Its a theme I keep going back to, and its like no matter how much someone convinces me otherwise, I believe women to be most important to this story, in the end.

Also,

Quote
And he seemed with otherworldly light, haloes like golden discs shining about his hands. She could see him!

Quote
Somewhere distant, almost too far to touch, men cried out. Martemus watched the Prophet turn his head, reach back witha golden-haloed hand, and seize a flying arm, which bore a fist, which gripped a long and silvery knife.

There are just two examples, but, everytime Kellhus's halo are mentioned they are gold. These are seen through the eyes of humans. When we see Mimara's through the Judging Eye hers are silver. I'd love to see Kellhus through the Judging eye, but, is this a clue that Kellhus's haloes are false? Please, anything you guys could add would be greatly appreciated.

Remember that the Tusk is also filled with lies.  The Inchoroi made it to manipulate the Ketyai to invade Earwa and kill Nonmen.

Yea, and then reinterpreted again by Inri Sejunus. Been having a conversation about the spiritual value and such of everything on Earwa. And, the denizen of Earwa base their assumptions of this value on the Tusk. Which was made by Aliens and then reinterpreted by someone else millennia later, who thought it was holy. You think they might have things a bit screwed up spiritually on Earwa?

If only after that we understand what has come before, then we understand nothing. Thus we shall define the soul as follows: that which precedes everything.
--Ajencis, The First Analytic of Men.

FIRST FUCKING QUOTE OF THE SERIES!!! w

WONDERFUL!

so, thinking about how crafty Bakker is, he's going to have us looking for viramsata where it isn't be and be it where it don't seem

more false history:

- Mimara is Esmi's child

- Kellhus is from Ishual

- Shauriatas is still alive

I've never taking into account that viramsata may be a part of the narrative. That's mind boggling.

OK, all fair points. Still, can't you at least see where Sci is coming from? It really doesn't make any sense that Dragon aren't covered in chorae.

H, that's a good explanation. Still, it doesn't truly answer Sci's question. You have Wracu that are nearly unstoppable and the only thing that can stop them are sorcerer's. Why wouldn't you just put 4 or 5 chorae(chorae isn't a problem for the Consult, Bakker has said they have the greatest horde in Earwa, thousands upon thousands) on them, and have them be virtually indestructible? It truly makes zero sense unless there is a plausible reason for doing so. And, I've never seen an answer that solved this riddle.

I never thought about that. I think it'll be more likely that we'll see them with the GO in a military capacity, though.

Yes ,that's exactly what I was implying. If the Skin-Spies use whoever they can to manipulate situations, than why not Cnaüir? Its just an obviously thing to do.

Your hitting the home stretch. I loved Reaper's Gale, especially the ending. I could never get enough of Bugg and Tehol.

Well according to some if you like the Scyvendli and Cnaüir in particular, you condone rape. As for any of his brood surviving, the odds are in favor of that. Will we get a Scyvendli hoard that is attached to the Consult? I'd say yes, but I'd never thought of that before. What I keep thinking about is how the Skin-Spies and Aurang befriended Cnaüir. Was that just to learn if the Dûnyain? The the most logical answer. Yet, the ending of Moe and Cnaüir's meeting in Kyudea is so vague and leaves many outcomes to be suggested. If Meppa is not the creation of Moe+Cnaüir, tell me what would screw with Kellhus's mind more than him seeing Cnaüir in TUC. Why wouldn't one of the Skin-Spies used Cnaüir? Cnaüir more than anyone is a threat to Kellhus. Its another reason I'm a firm believer in Moe+Cnaüir=Meppa. The Skin-Spies knew that Kellhus feared what Cnaüir knew about him and you think they'd use that to their advantage.
