I'm pretty sure it's of little effort to have a guest "call-in" and we add GJ to the conference skype or something midway through.

I'm a fan of long podcasts. Not necessarily Joe Rogan-long, but I love a good hour+. I get that some people don't have the time, though.

Have you thought of doing a book club-type thing where you discuss each book chapter by chapter (once you exhaust some of the broader topics)?

Thanks, TheHangedMan.

Have you beholden our previous attempts of an Almanac? There is an open invitation for participants, those who'd like to start new chapter threads and those who wish to contribute to past breakdowns...

Might be interesting to discuss each chapter in light of what we have learned up to this point.

I was actually thinking of covering the last chapter of each book in some way?

Also, the fact that names are reused for different characters throughout history intrigues me.  Might there be a topic of discussion on how these characters relate and what it could mean for the overall story?

Just a couple of the ideas that I have been kicking around in the cranium.

Whenever we get enough community interest to warrant a second one... ;) I imagine the more pressure there is to make one, the faster it will happen, however, I'd say at least another month.

Yeah, I'm honestly itching to do it. I really enjoyed the first and I think they'll absolutely get better with time. I also really like GJ's idea of discussing the final chapter of each book. Lots of room for speculation there.

I love that you guys are doing a podcast. Every few months I'd do a Goggle search looking for any podcasts discussing Bakker and the only good ones were the Luke Burrage reviews along with SFAudio ones he did too.

Anyway, since you're just starting out and you're the only Bakker-cast, why not just forget about worrying about time constraints until you start pumping them out on the regular?

There is a whole lot of things to consider. One issue is that not everyone involved in making the podcast can set aside a whole afternoon/evening to make these.

Another idea is to get a list of topics and just record us talking about them, and then later split up the audio file into more easily digestible chunks. We could upload both, so people could maybe search podcasts by topics, or sit down and listen to an hour+ depending on how they can stand.

Thanks for the input kellykellhus

Thanks, kellykellhus.

I think the reason time-constraints come up right away is because we shocked ourselves a little bit burning through our little itinerary so fast in the episode. Now granted, FB, Wilshire, and I had previously had interaction in Quorum (and I think the following couple episodes featuring different guests will benefit from previous Quorum melding as well) and FB managed to hit on unscripted first-episode gold with Gnostic philosophy and Dune.

We just want to make sure that we get it right. It is good to know that there is a dedicated, if small, fan base that just want to hear us freestyle some Bakker :).

LOVELY!  Finally got to listen in, what a joy it is to hear other nerds passionately discussing the RSB.  Thanks for putting it together!  Maybe formalize the structure a little?  I felt like I didn't hear everyone chime in on every question, and I wanted to!  :P

I'm ready to do a TSAcast whenever!  :)

Madness you can take my spot on the bakker/misogyny episode, if ever we do one. Its not that I have an issue with the topic, just how it always turns out. Its a political debate, which always tend towards the same direction (and its never to a point of resolution).

Same here, personally, I would not like to cast on this topic.  Feel out of my depth.

Get involved, MG. All it takes is scheduling some time with FB and/or Wilshire.

And really, anyone could volunteer some kind of "structure."
