I'd like "measure is unceasing"
It'd be cool if that actually wrapped around the t-shirt, from front to back, with the start of measure and end of unceasing both being visible at the front.

Possibly with a small font, faded text background of 'the logos is without begining or end' repeated.

Hi, I'm new here and I'm not sure whether this is a good thread to start, but while reading this thread, I was struck with an idea "Fate is a Whore".
Hi! Welcome to the forum. :) Yeah, that's a striking one! But you capitalised the W? Just for extra emphasis or something else? :)

Aww, had a thought - have all the classic quotes like 'measure is unceasing' and shape the sentences so they all form letters, the greater letters being 'I am more'

Though it probably wouldn't jive with Bakker as it seems empowering. But given the no so subtextual construction of the phrase, is it? Is it not undermined, perhaps?

Just because it's in a way her title, the way people refer to her.

I didn't know there was a personification of fate in the series? Fair enough.

Someone should go name their dog or cat "Whore"! ;) That wont go wrong when it's time to call the pets in for din dins! :)

Well, I meant goddess Anagke, often referred to as "Whore of Fate".

And thanks for welcome, everyone.

Callan you're joking right? Whore is used in place of Anagke for the whole series. Maybe its time for a re-read.

Nope, not joking. Don't remember that one at all. Apart from the glossary, is that connection between the phrase and Anagke ever made anywhere in the books?

Yes, there is. For example in "The Judging Eye" Sarl has this little rant: "If this is no coincidence, Captain, then it's the Whore. Anagke. Fate. [...] And the Whore, begging your pardon, Captain, fucks everyone in the end - everyone. Foe, friend, fuzzy little woodland creatures..."

Xerius refers to the Goddess as Whore 2 or 3 times in his very first chapter (TDTCB). Akka at least once in his first chapter (In the Worm when he is talking to his Javreh spy). Honestly if you've never seen that in the books I'm not entirely sure you read them.

Here are some topics around this forum that talk about this, some of them you've actively participated in and even used Whore yourself. Perhaps you are a different Callan S? It seems you need more trauma.

And in here is a chapter header that specifically uses Whore as a pseudonym for Fate:
http://second-apocalypse.com/index.php?topic=7.msg10#msg10

(I was actually pretty surprised that my forum search for the word Whore only came up with about 30 results)

More on the topic at hand:
"IS NOT TRUTH INFINITE"
- Wutteat

Though all caps t-shirts tend to lose that oomph when there are no lower case letters to make it stand out. Sigh.
[edit] now that i posed that i seem to remember it already being suggested elsewhere. we need new books and fresh minds here or we'll just fill up the site with repeat posts, asking the same questions over and over.... doing the same thing and expecting different results...

I haven't read them...as you've read them.

I have a bad memory for names (I look up how to spell the character names basically all the time), primarily I assess because I find names to merely be distractions. Red herrings. This is not a common philosophy amongst folk.

If I've refered to 'whore', it's with a lower case and I thought they were merely cursing unpersonalised chance. That said, Wil, you're jumping on me. Does it appear I am refuting the new (for me) information? Okay, there's a Anagke. I'm not refuting that and I can't think of any other reason apart from refuting to jump on anyone about the matter.

I just have a hard time believing you never saw that, since Whore is used in place Anagke more often then not. I think that name is only mentioned directly in the book a few times, almost always replaced by Fate or Whore (or 'the Whore').

Didn't mean to offend though.
