They're all fantastic. You guys are talented or work hard. Probably both. Mallahet is particularly nice (Psukhe erupts from a point in the middle of their brow, if you're interested in other rendition suggestions, Quinthane ;)).

It's eerie, isn't it, FB? I definitely think Bakker appropriated some character and plot arcs from the Dune Saga.

My guess would still be Achamian/Duncan, Mimara/Siona, and Proyas/Nayla for the betrayal. Obviously, as Kellhus/Leto planned ;).

But I definitely also think the Meppa/Moenghus, Esmenet (or Kelmomas?)/Alia, Kellhus/Leto is too interesting to ignore. Cishaurim/Preacher - I think so.

@ lockesnow - interesting read, I'm not sure it was the right thread. I am digging your theory, though, and I also wonder about masking the skin-spies from Aurang's Synthese.

Lol - what is even happening in this communication breakdown? Everyone feeling extra-slighted in their lives?

For what it's worth, many people over the years have concluded Kellhus is the No-God and weren't particularly upset by that seemingly inevitable conclusion. And if that turned out to be true and we all agree on it beforehand, well... we'd be about 10 goddamn people on the internet who saw it first, leaving Bakker's several thousand other ones who might not be so clever ;)?

But certainly, dismissal isn't evidence.

T-Shirt Ideas!!

Don't worry, Meyna. I wrote basically the exact same thing in the other thread in the last year ;). Quinthane should get to enjoy the suggestions there, nonetheless. That thread spawned a couple good posts in the Disseminating Bakker thread too.

It's no conspiracy. Wikipedia is an open-source information network. It seems obvious that vested interests would corroborate together to affect the biased dissemination of information.

By the way, I always follow the citations ;). I tend to treat everything academically at this point.

And, Royce, any person, regardless of training, is qualified to critique scientific endeavors. Don't let anything convince you otherwise.

its unbelievably superb. it really opened my eyes to the moral toxicity that Scott ennables the reader to happily go along with, it's just and incredibly clear detailing of the flattering ways that reader is made complicit in and agreeable to genocide and murder.

I skimmed the essay yesterday - I will have to read it more fully and respond. Interesting commentary, lockesnow :).

Big +1 for sentiment.

I think we all have this general feeling that Bakker is going to be a huge success one-day. It'd be nice to be here for the Cultic Awakening ;).

I would have thought Yatwer would be pregnant.

As always though, beauty art everyone. You are inspiring me to finish a second fan-fic story (also attempting to sketch again everyday, broke out the pencils and sketchbook, we'll see where the journey takes me).

I've had ideas for t-shirts for some time, Quinthane, I've just never gotten around to making it a reality.

I was hoping a contest might attract some fans but it has been relatively quiet.

I recently found a pretty good shop to do the work, I literally just haven't taken the time to design the layout, pick fonts, etc (to format it for this place specifically cuts down the costs as does buying in bulk).

They also seemed mildly concerned someone might persecute them for printing the titles of copyrighted material but... I don't see an issue. Bakker's lawyers want to sue my broke ass for doing the publishers job for them and affecting free advertising, go right ahead.

Also, FB, way to crash the thread :)

Que?

Lol, I just found it funny that you've been here for relatively longer than some of the other members and only now dropping your artistic prowess on us.

Wicked, Somnambulist. Hmm... this is all testing my lack of artistic talent or skill but I wonder how one could draw that distorted grimace of the Sranc.
