 Hello guys!

During the summer of 2011, while in Florida to improve my English I suddenly decide to re-read some of the “ Acts of Caine” books by M.W.Stoover which was my favorite series at the time.  Looking for the PDF’s on various forums ( I didn’t have my copies with me)  I stumble upon one of those “charachter vs charachter” threads.
“Caine vs Anasurimbor Kellhus”
I go through the thing thinking to myself “Who is this Kellhus guy they’re saying would win hands down against my favorite character ever?” I was intrigued.

Alas, not enough, and the whole thing was forgotten for a long time.

Then one day I remembered that name, found the thread and looked into the matter.
I wasn’t reading anything at the time so I decided to try and see for myself what made this Kellhus guy so special.
I started reading TDTCB with little more than curiosity but by the end of it I was hooked.
The worldbuilding, the characters, the different take on the magic element…I wasn’t used to this level of depth and everything sounded completely new and alien to me in a way. I was expecting some standard fantasy book with predictable characters and unimpressive writing style.
I’ve never been so wrong.

So here I am, I finally decided to officially join this forum after lurking for a week or so :D

Hi DN and welcome.

glad to have another fan in our midst. do be warned, though; Bakker's books are more than entertaining...they're also addictive and can induce something called 'the whelming' which can have many symptomatic displays. you may wanna check the following list:

 1) Do you now drink wine from a bowl instead of a glass?

2) Does never again having a good night's sleep seem like a steal for the Gnosis at twice the price?

3) Are any of your pets now named Anasurimbor _______?

4) Have you decided what School is right for you? Do you find yourself trying to see the Few? When you can't, do you conclude that you're surrounded by Cishaurim?

5) Have you sustained any kind of injury attempting to step into the sky?

6) How close to certain are you that Nick Nolte is a Skin spy?

7) Describe Akka's map.

8 ) Been searching out a copy of "Dunyain for Dummies"? (Whelm your coworkers! Learn a friends PIN number by how he squints! Spice up what comes after by knowing what comes before! )

9) Have you attempted using the Probability Trance to find the shortest path to the UC's pub date?

and lastly...

10) Do you draw 2 to 3 pictures a day depicting scenes from R. Scott's books then post them on various websites?

enjoy and safe posting.

Welcome to the Second Apocalypse, DN.

1) Drank wine from a bowl since I read Homer as a child.
2) Sleep when you're Damned.
3) I come before them as a father does his children.
4) See avatar.
5) No, I feel the echo...
6) Who's Nick Nolte? And post-googling, I realize I know fewer actor's names then I thought.
7) I plucked it from the fire.
8. Dunyain for Dummies is written by the Pragma as a way to further enslave those asleep.
9) When I'm not posting, I'm seeking the Thousandfold Thought.
10) I think there was a time I knew drawing... once. But I am almost done my second fanfic piece ;).

Even Nonman erratics that see him coming are like..."Whoa...um...'sup Madness? Look i'd love to stay and chat but...uh...i just remembered...(i know! remembered something! good for me!)... i gotta return these home-pregnancy tests i bought the other day. Sheesh. what was i thinking, right?....so i'll siqu later!"

...and he's like one of the dudes in charge here.

seriously...you may just wanna consider Lloyd Alexander and spare yourself.

nothing puts an end to something better than a description of something that has no end.

If you are ever lucid enough in a nightmare, it works just as well. None drug induced :P.

Hi DN!  I have never read Caine, but it is on the list!  When I think of a Kellhus analogue, I think of Steerpike from Gormenghast.

sometimes i re-read the stuff i've written and can only shake my head at myself and walk out the room, leaving me sitting there.
