Very interesting points Yellow. About Malowebi I agree with your and walters conclusion. It makes sense from a narrative point of view so to say.

haha okay, sorry, I was in a bit of a surge yesterday, having just finished the TUC and all. Sorry for the bother and thanks for your reply as always!

Shouldn't this forum topic be in the general section?

Also, a really great quote from the "what has come before..." section in the books (page 2 in TUC):

"Centuries passed and the mantle of human civilization crept along the great river basins of Eärwa and outward, bringing bronze where there had been flint, cloth where there had been skins and writing where there had been recital. Great cities rose to teeming life. The wilds gave way to cultivated horizons."

I think the prose here is masterful, really!

(I apologize before-hand if we are not allowed to post spoiler threads about TUC as of yet; I browsed the spoiler policy topic but admittedly I'm a bit excited and upset as of writing this so I perhaps read it a bit hastily. I saved the his text so I can repost it at a more appropriate time if that is the case)

Hello everyone, I just finished the book and I want to hear you your thoughts about the ending and the story in general now that it is concluded (?).

I expect Mimara to behold Kellhus, and she will see that he is damned. There will be a point about this in the book where the truthfulness of her judgement will be disputed; the judging eye reflects the judgement of the gods, whom naturally hate Kellhus. Akka will realize this and also realize the folly of his quest; the question still stands. is Kellhus good or evil?

I expect meppa to play an important part somehow. I read somewhere that magic in Earwa is like the following: the gnosis is like speaking in concrete words (it is easy to convey meaning), the anagosis is equivalent to the abstract usage of language, harder to convey meaning and thus less powerful than the gnosis whereas the water is pure emotion. All of these three parts are pivotal in our ways of communicating and im sure they will have to be wielded in common to stop the dread might of the consult!!

Thanks for the input everryone! Right now im re-reading bits and pieces of the second apocalypse to keep myself occupied until july. We'll see how long that lasts and then I guess I might pick up on the books again. It feels kind of bad to stop in the middle of the series

I just finished the third book (Children of Dune) I felt I kind of lost interest by now because I don't really connect with any of the characters and the motives behind Letos actions completely elude me. Dunno, I feel like 'the hassle' involved in reading and understanding complex books isn't compensated for in the Dune books by having an amazing story (and other qualities) that Bakker's works have. It also might be that I don't really like Sci-Fi. It just feels kind of cheesy. I did some readings on wikipedia and apparently Leto turns into a sandworm (say whaaat). Is it worth to keep on reading when I really lost interest reading the third book? I feel like such a pessimist haha
