Title: Audiobook?

Hey guys, I don't think this has been covered on this forum or anywhere else on the internets. Does anyone know if JE is out on audiobook? All of the Prince of Nothing books, as well as, White Luck Warrior are on audible.com, but not Judging Eye. That just seems weird to me...

I've got two young kids, a full time job, and go to night school. Listening to audiobooks during my commute is the only way for me read!

Thanks!

Yeah, TJE's a mystery.

I found this (http://www.oneclickaudio.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=rb.show_prod&prod_id=Z05024) awhile ago, though the date is much closer now... are audiobook dates as unreliable as new release dates?

I'd actually seen that page before but since I couldn't find the audiobook ANYWHERE else on the internets, I assumed it was shady. However, I just now saw that little red text saying there was an anticipated release date of March, so, ok, that helps curb my anxiety a bit. Thanks Madness!

Same title in the Misc. Chatter section.

last few response mention TJE's absence. ;). Only reason I know this is because it was my topic. If only a search feature .... ( )

The Schoolmen of Forumer are working on it in earnest now, Wilshire.... hopefully I get a response soon.

Well, I hope you are wrong :). They've got techies working on it - I really want to explore some keyword searches.

The author search works though.

Have to say I've been listening to some samples of the audobook and Kevin Orton's narration is truly excellent.
If I could find these in cd form, I'd have them.

I'm surprised that these works are on audio.  I was thinking the other day how difficult these would be to do in an audio format.  The changes from external to internal dialogue (often italicized in the text) in particular must be difficult.  How does the audio book differentiate these?  I feel like it would work better as an audio play or audio theater with different voices for different characters.  Is it confusing to listen to?

The changes from internal to external dialogue are mostly handled through different cadence, tone, pauses, etc.   It works surprisingly well but does take a little bit of time to get used to.  Might be really confusing for people who haven't read the books before listening to the audio.  Not sure I'd use them to try and introduce people to TSA.

And yes, it's amazing that the audiobooks exist at all, and that it looks like we'll end up with the complete series.

Recorded Books lists CD editions on their site, but it looks like they're intended for purchase by libraries.

Used library copies show up from time to time on ebay:

It also looks like the PON books were (relatively) recently reissued as MP3 cds.

What a shame that they are not available commercially. I'm not in the US library system and would in any case want a version for myself to listen to. Apparently that is not an option.

Can you use Audible (http://www.audible.com/), Mith?

Hi Mike,

Not really no, I need audio cd's regardless.

Amazon isn't an option?

Ordering somewhere in NA and then having physical CDs shipped to you is prohibitive?

I could do that if I could find them for sale somewhere :)

That said I did just buy TJE on cd, narrated by Kevin Orton, off a secondhand seller on Amazon.

I've not found WLW in audio cd form, anywhere. But I'll start off with TJE cd's, once I get them.

Well, I'll make sure to ask MG when I see him and point him in the direction of this thread. He'll have some insight into purchasing the audiobooks.
