So I'm wondering if you've done any background research regarding the Holy War (Inrithi-Fanim) in regards to RL Crusades and if so do you have any books on the matter to recommend because I realized I know staggeringly little about that period in history and would like to know more.

I do know that he'll inevitably recommended Harold Lamb's Iron Men and Saints, JR :).
The Existential Scream
Weaponizing the Warrior Pose - Declare War Inwardly
carnificibus: multus sanguis fluit
Die Better
The Theory-Killer

Thanks! 1930s publish date? Blimey, that'll be hard to track down locally haha.

Haha - I want to say you can find it on amazon but I'm not sure. I've read it and the Genghis Khan version. Lamb's writing is remarkable for standing the test of time and I find it fairly obviously influenced Bakker's Omnipresent War POVs, along with Homer.
