The Unholy Consult / Re: [TUC Spoiler] Minor Aurax Question

That or its a hidden cipher for the entire series and unlocking it will unlock the other mysteries of the series.

Quick, lets hunt down every unintelligible string of letters and see if we can't find a hidden code!

Is this going to be the TSA version of that crazy "corn code" ASOIAF theory? ;)

If I have some small role to play in starting a ridiculous theory/scavenger hunt, then I am proud.

Iz helping!

The Unholy Consult / Re: Rereading The Unholy Consult

Lovely wall of text here, I yearn to reread TUC but am stuck trying to decide if I want to do the Slog of Slogs from the beginning, start again with the second series, or just reread TGO & TUC.

I actually relished the unraveling horror on the Plains of Agongorea, had bigger problems with the big final battle and all it's loose threads going hither and yon. My only real complaint against the book as a whole is that stupid talking dragon and having to hear the word 'cunny' repeated in a fantasy novel more times than I deem necessary.

My natural inclination is to think we'll see more Aurax, maybe even some POV chapters like we did with Aurang.

It didn't, because when I read it I didn't understand it. I suppose there was some stuff I saw coming, but I think I need to reread it once my head clears from TUC.

Alternately, "Start the reactor..."

374, when Kellhus is talking to Mekeritrig about resisting the Goad. I assume blubbering too, but Bakker rarely makes up a word without knowing what it means.

The Unholy Consult / [TUC Spoiler] Minor Aurax Question

"Gassirraaaajaalrimri..."

In a word, huh? What exactly is Aurax on about with this cryptic statement? If anything. As far as I can tell, here are my theories:

A) Something cool and metal to say without any real meaning behind it.

B) A special kind of hat Aurax likes to wear that gives him the confidence to face the day, that unfortunately the DunSult hid and won't tell him wear it is.

C) Aurax has gas.

D) Something different.

Favorite book so far, the gut-punch of it would have been frustrating and pointless if this was the end of the series, instead of simply the resolution.

Don't know if I'm behind everyone here (obviously just finished Consult), but anyone notice the way the Mutilated say they didn't conquer the Consult but subsumed it? Makes me wonder if they're holding Shae's souls like so often speculated, except they themselves remain in control. I feel like there are a lot on hints on this one.

Weirdly, I read Kellhus' forthrightness with Akka to be as warm & cuddly as he gets. At least there's no manipulation, I read it as saying 'you can't do anything for Proyas, concentrate on the lives you can save'. Plus, some shade, but that's normal. IMHO, Akka's women are going to have a lot to do in coming weeks and month, so this could be Kell dropping some hints for the next series.

Hi Ordealpeople

Since it come up in this thread & in lieu of starting a new one, anyone have any ideas how Kelmomas physically got into the Golden Room? I know it's been discussed the Serwë skinspy snatching him up some point, which I don't remember happening. Barring that, my assumption is he was trailing in Ajokis' footsteps, and can just move about Narindar-like because he's the No-God.  Or something like that.
