Shaking my head at the overstatement in the headline....

If the NFC championship game features "Hotlanta" vs. "Who Dat", wow! Could be epic. I wonder whether I'll stay with the Falcons in that event.

Saints are 6.5 point favorites.....

That's really surprising. No respect for the Vikings.

What a game. Definitely the best one of the weekend. Gotta give it to Carolina playing with so much heart, with Cam getting beat up all night and taking his own face shield to the eye.

Kept me in the running though!

PHL, NE, MIN, PIT

How about the Browns having a parade for going 0-16? I thought it was brilliant.

I can't imagine the sheer level of nihilism it takes to have a 0-16 parade. Love it!

Didn't see your picks when I posted the schedule, Bolivar. We differ on Saints vs. Vikings and Falcons vs. Eagles. The NFC games will tell the tale for us.

Cleveland's "factory of sadness" sure is productive, isn't it?

Yeah, a schedule would help....

NFL Playoffs, Divisional Round:

1. Falcons at Eagles

2. Titans at Patriots

3. Jaguars at Steelers

4. Saints at Vikings

Leader in the clubhouse goes first.

I've got:

"Hotlanta" Falcons
The Dreaded Patriots
Steelers
....and the Saints!

Laissez les bon temps rouler! Let the good times roll!

NFL Playoff Predictions, Wild Card Weekend:

BFK: 3-1
Tao: 2-2
MSJ: 2-2
Bolivar: 2-2

BFK's "Hotlanta" pick gives him the slim edge, but the field is tight. A Carolina comeback would have flipped BFK and Tao (and buried MSJ and Bolivar).

On to Divisional Weekend! Get your picks in!

Intelligence doesn’t make someone more likely to change their mind. People with higher IQs are better at crafting arguments to support a position—but only if they already agree with it.
I knew it!

Does he mean that these people are only better at crafting arguments for positions that they already believe in? In other words, is their prior belief necessary for the creation of the arguments? Or is he making an intentional point about motivation?
I think it just means that intelligent people are just as blind to themselves, on average.
Well, Tleilaxu, "changing one's mind" is clearly an act of will and requires some kind of motivation, regardless of intelligence. I'm pretty smart, and I've changed my mind on the importance of religion, the aesthetics of rock music, and the designated hitter rule.

Regardless, the writer was unclear, I think you'll agree.

Holy shit that Mariota block to pick up the first down and win the game.

I'm already wrong on my predictions!

You wouldn't say, for example, "You can look at the painting as an accumulation of paint, or you can not." You would say, "You can view that painting as an mere accumulation of paint and you can view that painting as a landscape."
Viewing it as a landscape does not change the fact that it's an accumulation of paint, with all the implications of being an accumulation of paint.

Very true. That is exactly correct. As an accumulation of paint, for example, it will require care, restoration, a controlled environment. And, viewing it as an accumulation of paint does not change the fact that it is an aesthetic object, a portrait of a landscape, with its corresponding implications.

No, that's not correct. The second way is not a negation of science, but an alternative to science.
