In light of the Final Fantasy X/X-2 remasters I was wondering what other old video games everyone would like to see remastered for modern systems/graphics.  I was a huge fan of the port of Zelda: Ocarina of Time to the 3ds and I'm really enjoying the Final Fantasy port to the PS Vita.  I'm surprised Nintendo and Sony aren't cashing in more on the fact our generation wants our nostalgic games looking sexy and easily accessible.

Sacrilege :P. I still play the originals.

In fact, I just found out a couple days ago (gizmodo article, I think) that there are emulator websites now... Not too mention you can simply get them for your smartphones, etc, etc.

Meh, personally I rather like being able to take the N64 and PS games that I loved anywhere I want and play them on the go.  Obviously you can do this through jailbreaking or homebrewing your devices, but idk there's something nice about revisiting the old magic of a well loved game in new graphics.

That being said, the original flavor does have appeal as well, just curious if anyone else likes to see old games brought to a new generation lol

Well, I meant I prefer the original gameplay on any medium (I haven't actually owned a regular Nintendo in 5 years or so, as some friends lost or stole my collection).

New graphics don't appeal to me so much.

I really loved when they updated Halo to Halo 2 graphics. I also really liked the idea that they were (not sure what's up now with Facebook) developing a updated VR version of original Zelda for Oculus Rift.

Rifts: Promise of power

Released on the N-gage so I never got to play it. Had decent reviews as well.

I have trouble ignoring bad graphics at this point. Not to say I think minute graphics differences in the current gen is somehow a valuable tool to rate a game with. I just have trouble playing a game like FFVII.

I'd love to see plenty of the old stuff remastered, but companies seem to be unwilling... Not really sure why.

I have no issues playing the old stuff.

I will note that given enough time the video game industry will remake all the old classics because... money, money, money.

See, that's what you would think, but it isn't going that direction. Apparently the cost of remaking a game is pretty near the cost of developing an entirely new one. Even though the shelll of the game is there as far as story/plot/mechanics, developers have to start coding it from scratch.... Or at least that is the claim.
So right now, the choice is to either make a new game or remake and old one, and I guess many companies just aren't willing to put that kind of cash into something old? I don't think they yet realize the interest us millennials would have in the remakes, since everything is always pushing for new, New, NEW!!

Perhaps one day they will figure it out.

I'd love to see a 3ds combo of Zelda 1, 2, and A Link to the Past.

I know four swords is on the 3DS online store for download, I'm not too sure about the originals though..
