Love the perspective and the creature in the back, but I'm drawing a blank what scene that's from (which reminds me that I need to get around to a legit re-read before TGO drops)?

Yeah, that's the C.S. skinspy after he got burnt, when Aurang told him to close his face.  Glad the pain came through.

Just goofing around, did some unsanctioned covers for the PON series.  These are just sketches, not finished illustrations, but the ideas are more or less, well, whatever.  I can feel your hatred already....

Jesus dude. Those are so goddamn cool, my favorites especially being the bottom Cnaiur one and the top Achamian. Is that lower one supposed to be an older version of Akka?

You should do a TJE with Mimara.

I love the lower row. Although, the marketing would probably say "They won't sell!". They do it all the time.

Thanks, man.  I did TJE, TGO and TUC in the top style, but sort of petered out with WLW.  Haven't done any others in the bottom style.  But, yeah, Mimara is on my cover for TJE, Proyas on TGO, and Aurang on TUC.  Might (some day) finish up the series in both styles.

Anyway, the lower TDTCB is actually supposed to be Kellhus.  I had it in mind I wouldn't show Kel on any of the covers, but obviously broke my own rule pretty damn quickly.

I love the lower row. Although, the marketing would probably say "They won't sell!". They do it all the time.

I prefer the lower ones, as well.  I think Madness prefers the top ones, hence his comment about our bet.  :)  I, too, agree about the probable marketing reaction.

I will note that there is no bet and my comment made is entirely in jest. I really liked the top ones, of which, Somnambulist was not so impressed with. The bottom ones didn't really take for me.

But I do not have an artist's eye, by any means.

Som, those are bad ass! I'd buy them in a heart beat. I always want the covers to reflect the books. You don't always see that, well, you hardly ever see that. Those do a great job of capturing the books. Now, we just need them printed.
“No. I am your end. Before your eyes I will put your seed to the knife. I will quarter your carcass and feed it to the dogs. Your bones I will grind to dust and cast to the winds. I will strike down those who speak your name or the name of your fathers, until ‘Yursalka’ becomes as meaningless as infant babble. I will blot you out, hunt down your every trace! The track of your life has come to me,
