Yeah i'm pretty uncultured and ignorant when it comes to art. However the one i highlighted above and the new book covers are really amazing, i believe Som did the covers.

Having an opinion is the first step to becoming knowledgeable and cultured ;).

The 'new book covers' (please, Overlook, do a goddamn rerelease of the series, please...) are pieces Somnambulist toyed around with but nothing official :(. Yet!

I could look into it... Bootleg Somnambulist softcovers, barring that, dustjackets. How hard could it be?

I second Wilshire's love of your pen&ink stuff, Q.

'came before them' is fantastic.

Oo, yeah. 'Came before them' and mansion are great. Gotta stare at them for a few seconds to grasp what they show.

'came before them' actually recalls this weirdly specific image of dancing skeletons...

Well its a polish translation of a quote fromt TDTCB.

"Here is a simple difference between a strong and a weak emperor : for he first, the world is an arena, for the second - a harem"

Courtesy of google translate.

As for the picture.... I haven't the faintest clue.

All of a sudden I feel a whole lot better about the face covers.

Well, it seems to be a site with quotes that the author thinks interesting, superimposed on images that s/he deemed appropriate. They are quite popular over here - but this one seems to be rather dull.
The picture is taken from here: http://www.natashalawes.com/portfolio/single/63/, it's a part of an advertising campaign.
