Ie, the salting of sorcerers - they become vulnerable to chorae salting shortly after their initial castings, if I understand correctly. How so? Is it like the vandalism of graffiti and there's a lot of back blast of paint, so to speak, or something? And the paint begins to replace them?

In other words, why not pillars of pepper? I'm just riffing on Biblical themes, here, is all.

Well, one never knows when it touches on some deep set theme or if it's just because it's metal as hell! It's got the intuitive feels to it, for sure - but yah, given all the themes, it makes sense I wanted to check!

What about infection radius? Any hard and fast rules for the effective radius of a chorae?
One of the other conditions of possibility.

I'm guessing it's more a question of how graffiti laiden the sorcerer is - the text going that some ancient sorcerers would begin to salt even when a chorae was held some distance away. So the chorae is contact based, but the sorcerers mark, the thing the chorae touches, can extend beyond their physical skin.
