Heard of this one while I was listening to John Medina on Aging Well: Neurospace

There are a number of labs working on this kind of thing - not that the games are all that fun but compared to other "brain training," there's at least some scientific rigour to them.

Oh, and BrainHQ developed under the tutelage of Merzenich! Great stuff, I should really renew my subscription.

Lore:

Quote
Lore is ... about true life scary stories. Our fears have roots. Lore exposes the darker side of history, exploring the creatures, people, and places of our wildest nightmares.

Because sometimes the truth is more frightening than fiction.

Read the first four chapters free!

I've been looking forward to seeing I would be intrigued by this title for a long time, given her previous work at io9 (reminds me I've also been meaning to pick up Scatter, Adapt, and Remember for time too).

Came across this one with Joe Abercrombie, who is always fun to listen to. There is a huge backlog though so plenty of other interviews to look up!

The Brain with David Eagleman

It's the whole six episodes. I've been meaning to watch it for time and I believe I have the companion book somewhere.

First episode was great - hits a lot of classic Bakker beats. I like Eagleman's writing a fair bit and have been exposed to a bunch of his research over the years. He does well despite seeming to fall into a strictly pop-science personality much of the time.
