Thoughts on Akka's dream and Meppa (click to show/hide)Weren't we supposed to learn about how Akka had been deceived by his dreams? I utterly failed to see how this was revealed in any way but then again, I did read with haste. Nevertheless, I'm a bit puzzled that there seemingly wasn't any sort of finish to this part of the story seeing as his altered dreams played such a pivotal part in the beginning of this "triology". Was it Kellhus who manipulated the dreams, if so, why, and how? questions I would've liked to have answered. Also, what about Meppa? As I understood it he was 1. immensely powerful (referring to Kellhus encounter with him 'Such power' etc and 2. he is in fact alive. It felt like his story line wasn't really concluded.
(click to show/hide)I think I missed it, so, does anybody knows exactly what is the deal with Aurax ?
(click to show/hide)He is the other inchoroi, was very angry/sad that his brother got tossed off the Horn by Kellhus. Seems to be cringing and subordinate to the Consult Dunyain.
Great, great post Wilshire. Love it.regarding the title of the third series, I said it upthread, but it was buried in a big post: (click to show/hide)titled: The Second Apocalypse (hattip to kal at westeros, I think he's probably right)
(click to show/hide)My take is that Kellhus was in his own body when he died.I think Ajokli has switched with him to confront the consult, but then when Kelmomas shows up he backs off (just like Yatwer does in WLW 1 and 2). That's why the skin spies can take their hands off the floor, and that's why Kellhus's last words are grappling with how his son can be here. He sees Kelmomas, so he isn't Ajokli at the end.I think Kellhus is salted, for serious. The world is gonna have to save itself now. Seems like Akka needs to redo Seswatha's quest for the Spear (this time looking for the Ruby Spear), with Dunyain as an added complication. The world's dire straits deserves its own thread (hopefully after this ridiculous requirement to put everything in spoiler tags has been lifted).

I simply cant believe it that Kellhus is dead. On the other hand, maybe he has somewhat fulfilled his role: he is exposed as not really being interesting in saving the world and now he is 'dead'. Even if he were to return, what would he hope to do. Redeem himself by defeating the consult? Seems a bit contrived... (click to show/hide)Kellhus attains godhood in the afterlife and conditions the ground for the most perfect expression of the Thousandfold Thought. From what I read of these spoilers, nothing actually deviated from TTT as described between Moe and Kell. Piling disaster upon disaster on the Human armies could actually be a part of TTT though I'll do a quick reread to be sure. Kell just saw beyond it so we need a Bejunka masterstroke that changes all the moves going forward. Attaining godhood and whitelucking a time paradox would certainly qualify. The goddess I was thinking about was Onkis. There was a thread somewhere here that made the compelling argument that Onkis was the God of the Darkness that Came Before. She's the goddess of inspiration which comes before though. She's also described eerily similar to a head on a stick. So if Kell is a head on a stick why can't he now be a demon that orchestrated this all?Following the naming conventions of the series, Prince of Nothing and Aspect Emperor could fittingly be concluded with "The God Before Everything" or maybe "The God Preceding All."Just speculation though. Far be it from me to resume I can anticipate the glorious Warrior Prophet. Truth Shines

Isn't the entire over-arching collection called The Second Apocalypse?
(click to show/hide)So, what does people think about Serwa and Kayutas? did they survive the onslaught? I am betting that one of them didn't, Serwa in particular as she was not really fit to do anything with Sorcery anymore.
