General Earwa / Re: the principle of Before and After
« on: May 13, 2016, 02:40:53 pm »
I think in the beginning he just goes on about sorcery being a superstition. As bolivar said he argues with Moë about the principle and thinks that prophecies cannot be true because what comes after cannot determine what came before. This is after he had used sorcery of course.

I don't see how sorcery  negates the principle.

You're saying it's Moë?

Or Leweth.

Wait... it's been almost a year and a half since part I of whatever that story was called came out? Unbelievable... How long have I been waiting for TUC???

I remember a time when Bakker was saying he's almost done with TUC and a few months later he gave Madness the manuscript... that was ages ago... :o

Listening to Tim Hecker's new album Love Streams... pretty disappointing.

If you're not familiar with the ambient / noise genre you could check out Harmony in Ultraviolet by the same artist. Maybe you'll discover something you like.

FINISHED

this is why i weep

So what did you think?

My guess is the super uppercut is something that changes the way we thought about the story entirely... I can't think of anything, though.

Not sure if this relevant but this podcast (http://www.sfbrp.com/) has reviewed all of the TSA books and gave them very good reviews as far as I can recall.

Doubt Bakker would make a mistake like this. This would be evidence that she's not one of the Swayal.

69
That’s a lot of seed man...

70
Well, I would tend to disagree with this as I don't believe that learning the Gnosis is dependent on Grasping the Heart, where-as I do believe that the Psuhke is dependent upon the blinding.

Maybe not learning the Gnosis in general, but having a Mandate schoolman teach it to you is dependent on grasping the heart as far as I can tell. On the other hand, we don’t know that a Dûnyain can’t learn the Psûkhe without getting blinded--or anyone for that matter.

71
That emissary could have been someone else. I think Locke’s theory is that Moënghus learned the Psûkhe without being blinded as a parallel to Kellhus learning the Gnosis without grasping Seswatha’s heart.

72
It’s probably just a coincidence... lol

Speaking of faces, someone mentioned on the other board that this face is a blind man with a serpent. Wonder what people here think about that.

My hope is that one day, we'll get a book where we learn about what the real, original Ihrimsû version said.

My hope is that one day Bakker will publish the actual Isûphiryas - in the original Ihrimsû.
