Good to see some recognition.

I must admit, I'm perpetually baffled by the admiration people have for The Stormlight Archives. I get why it's popular, but...dunno, just not for me I guess.

I saw a Vox list but it was a "top books to read while you wait for Game of Thrones" so I decided to leave it out.

The title may as well read: "Top Books to read as a stopgap while awaiting completion of the best series ever..."

I generally don't like loaded titles like that, they seem to make the assumption that ASOIAF is the best thing ever written and anything else can only be "filler".

Personally: Haven't read it.

I've read both Stormlight Archives books and it's a fine epic fantasy on its own. Interesting, well-created world with a lot of odd elements that seem to work together very well (so far, no logical gaps in world creation and no handwaving to explain this or that), multi-dimensional characters that you can relate to. Huge battles, complex magic system, mystery-shrouded history that has to be re-discovered, and the-end-of-the-world-as-we-know-it in the making. On the whole, high entertainment factor.
