FINISHED

this is why i weep

So what did you think?

My guess is the super uppercut is something that changes the way we thought about the story entirely... I can't think of anything, though.

PRETTY AMAZING

The upper cut at the end is surprising, but it's just one twist among many.  I am working on a review to be posted ASAP.  Some of the story arcs are surprising and some aren't--but even these are well done and 110% worth the read imo.

It's pretty amazing that Bakker wrote one more book that both fulfills the need for questions answered and tantalizes with even more questions.

One cool thing about the book is that it's possible that the largest framing elements of the Earwan universe are starting to become visible.  I had the impression that some of my new crazy theories (inspired by TGO) were better founded than when I speculated after WLW.

How do I say--it seems like Bakker is trickling his Silmarillion into his LOTR.

I'm also kind of amazed that so much of the book is spent in Ishteribinth.  My mental picture is a huge-ass creepy-ass place with a few equally creepy-ass Nonmen walking around and being weird.  But in RSB we trust, right?

Ishterebinth is exquisite!
