If I had one criticism, it would be the potentially egregious overuse of ellipses.

Why "..." ? We can't have a legit criticisms thread?

EDIT: I'm thick. Your ability to meta is beyond my ken.

lol man its because I was complaing about the ellipse.

I can change the thread title to criticism though. That's the only one I got though.

I don't mind it...in fact, I kind of like it, even if it is slightly...overdone?

There just seemed to be ... a lot of them.  Like using the same adjective over and over, it looses some of its punch.

But nothing builds suspense quite like ... an ellipse!

I wish there was a way to annotate and give corrections back to Overlook.  So many missing umlauts or umlauts where there shouldn't be.  Missing apostrophes.  "Kjineta" vs. "kijneta."  The past participle of "sow" for agriculture is "sown" not "sewn." Uuuugh.  Just a few off the top of my head.

Well maybe the final will have some edits...

"Uncorrected Proof" - hopefully they fix it in the final version.

Yeah, and in the final edition of WLW, Achamian and Cleric are fighting a sorcerous "dual" over the ruins of Sauglish. :P  I know it's an uncorrected early edition, but Overlook haven't exactly endeared me to them with the handling of this manuscript, and I want this book to be in the most pristine condition state possible.  Whatever—I know it's just hot air on my part.

Ha ha ha. Yeah, it bothered me too, but not as much as the overuse of the word "wrack."

For my part, I believe "dread" and "ere" were what I picked up on.

But Bakker's response to me then is born out now: different readers are bothered by the frequencies of different words.

Perhaps some continuity issues:
Late Summer
Late Summer
Late Summer
Early Autumn

Late Summer

Late Summer
Late Summer
Mid-Autumn
Early Autumn

 ???

Some weird issues.  Akka and Mimara see the mushroom cloud in Autumn but apparently the nuke disrupted the flow of time because the Ordeal is struggling in Summer the next chapter.  And then encountering Cnaiur rewinds time.  The date in a few chapters is notated as 4123.
