Welcome.  It's unfortunate how much you disliked TUC, but I do also tend to prefer PoN to TAE, in a general sense, although there are certainly moments in each TAE book that are some of Bakker's best writing.

Yes, I do agree there for the most part. :) But, honestly, it would be hard to choose which set is better as each one had its strengths, weaknesses, and my own bias.
