Interesting, gonna read this right now (I have a lot to say about the writing of female characters in general -- specifically male writers writing them, but only because I am, myself, a male writer and thus most experienced with that side of it, but also because, in my experience, female writers seem to have less issues writing men than vice-versa, or perhaps the issues are not so pronounced).
