I had wondered the very same thing though not as much for Ursulor as Domiot vs Domyot etc.

I asked RSB on his latest blog post and his response was that it was intentional giving the reason as "lack of naming convention is part and parcel of ancient scholarship."

Though I pointed out Harnilias to Harnilas and that one is just a mistake!

General Earwa / About Ce Tydonn
« on: January 11, 2016, 09:18:06 pm »
Since Ce Tydonn is now what used to be Cengemis before being conquered by the Tydonni tribes, is the "Ce" part of the name a shortened form of Cengemis and is a sort of double barrelled name?

Cengemis + Tydonni invasion = Ce Tydonn

The Tydonni are never referred to as the Ce Tydonni, and the remaining Cengemi and called as such.

It was just a thought I had when I was trying to work out how to pronounce Ce Tydonn ( Say, Seh, Suh, Cay, Cuh?)

Pretty neat piece of world building if it was intentional.

I thought when Akka got stoned with the Skin-Eaters was pretty funny, didn't feel forced at all.

"Only the good mud on the slug"

Considering that Bakker uses "mud" for "shit" often, I found these guys essentially going "this is the good shit, some damn fine weed" entertaining. The whole scene was very true to life. I think it's pretty obvious Bakker's had a few good tokes in his time.

General Earwa / Re: sranc as elju?
« on: December 28, 2015, 10:10:00 am »
It might have been an Ursranc? They're a lot more intelligent, ride horses and command other Sranc.

Mek gives orders to elju/Ursranc who in turn orders the band that attacks Kellhus in the prologue?

The Nonmen at the end of TWP had mounted Sranc with them so maybe they were the eljus? One for each of them.

It's not like the Consult has many humans to act as an elju and the skin spies would be presumably be wasted on simply being an elju.

Just a thought.

Ha, "chanv times" awesome.

I think Sarcellus had been a skin-spy for a long time.

The skin-sky who impersonated him first, Gaortha, has his own TTT glossary entry, whereas the entry for the real Cutias Sarcellus gives his year of death as 4099, some 11 years before his encounter with Achamian or Geshrunni.

Really enjoy the artworks from both of you (and have done for a while). It adds a whole other layer to the series.

Digging the Sakarpus one, reminds me a lot of Rohan. Latest inchoroi artwork is the best representation of them I've seen so far. Nailed the head design.

Quite a throwback, but Quinthane's depiction of the Unholy Seal is one of my favorites, exactly as I imagined it.
