The Unholy Consult / Re: [TUC Spoilers] Inchoroi in future books
« on: August 08, 2017, 10:55:24 pm »
That would kind of make the Progenitors backstory redundant since that's already what we thought about the Inchoroi before this book, I thought?

Did we ever find out what the point of a synthese is or why aurang had to use one and what ever happened to the synthese?
It's a soul housing tekne construct. It's just a lot stealthier than a 10 foot tall albino rape monster. I used to think that maybe Aurang's body wasn't very functional these days but Aspect Emperor stuff proved that wrong.

So does shutting the Outside off in Earwa somehow shut it off for the entire universe? Why is that? I do think it's reasonable to assume that because there is sorcery on Earwa that the border between it and the Outside are more porous, therefore making salvation more likely somehow.

I was kinda disappointed the Progenitors are pretty much ultra-hedonistic Eldar who got wind of Slaanesh before the shit hit the fan and made the Inchoroi as essentially Dark Eldar shock troops
That was kind of the Inchoroi's backstory anyway. But I think the progenitor revelation kind of emphasizes more "they reached too far" over "holy shit I can make my tentacle hentai real thank you Tekne, god is dead".

We have no idea what the analogue for human tissues inchoroi use is like. Their "muscles" could be many times stronger and their "bones" far lighter. They are a product of the tekne, after all.

I don't think Ajokli has the only hell. Yatwer at least seems to like to torment.

I don't understand how you could possibly enjoy a story when you hate every character. But I've been told my sympathies are strange.

Kellhus dropped it when Aurang tackled him IIRC. It's probably smashed on the base of the Upright Horn somewhere.

Serwa seems to have gotten the best mix. The feeble Dunyain will of Inrilatas and Kelmomas/Samarmas wasn't enough to allow normal function given a human emotional range. Kayutas and Thelli seem to have the opposite problem. There might be a theme lurking here.

At least it's not literally eating itself in violation of all natural laws like the corprus dudes.

I'm still not sure we're done with Sorweel. It's totally irrational but as it is the end feels pointless even by a "the pointlessness is the point" metric.

Nah. A Dunyain - even a badass half-Dunyain dragon-slaying witch - would be rubbish at the Psuke. Their passions are too stunted. Even though she really did love Sorweel.
I'm not sure her passions are stunted at all.

I think Golgotterath is unlike any other topos in intensity.

I thought the initial Ordeal was around half a million men?

Personally before this book I figured we were down to 1/10th or even 1/20th of the original host (but still most of the schoolmen, which is what matters)

2. Bakker just wanted to fuck with us
I'm thinking it's this.

And Bakker did confirm in the AMA that Titirga managed some combination of Psukhe and Gnosis.
Now I'm torn between Serwa dying early in the next book or miraculously surviving her injuries but being rendered blind.

Well the Voice told him Moe would do that. Kellhus himself seems to reconsider years later.

Zeum actually already has Sranc on its northern border according to Zoronga.

Zeum.

The Osthwai Mountains although the eastern end presents problems.

Back through the Gates to Eanna or through Jekk.

Nilnamesh.

Okay i'm done. Zeum seems the only safe option but realistically mountains don't seem to present problems for Sranc as the Yimaleti was described as their mother/cradle or something.

The Sranc can live in mountains just fine, that doesn't mean that they're good terrain for them to fight on.  The Bronzemen of Far Antiquity enjoyed considerable success against the Sranc of the Yimaleti until they were disbanded.

The Leash and the Knife, plus the fallout at Dagliash, aren't passable without some losses - though damn if the Sranc in the Celmomas Dream in TGO and No-God 2.0 taking out the Ordeal with Sranc don't remind me of the amazing feats of ants.
Deliberate. This is absolutely how someone would design an intelligent bioweapon.

I've heard that the Glossary mentions Cnaiur and the Scylvendi fucking up Atrithau's forces. The Lonely City seems certain to finally fall to the Great Ruiner...

Hmm...
It does. The heirless king of Atrithau is said to have died in battle with CnaiĆ¼r's Scylvendi horde.
