TGO ARC Discussion / Re: TGO ARC Cast
« on: July 02, 2016, 02:41:37 am »
Will this be recorded?  I have many enemies, and I need to know if they could use this against me.

Yes, recorded and soon after the book is released, posted.

Though, if there is impetus for an unrecorded thing, it might be possible. Recorded casts are far better though :)

The dreaded Noncast!

I assume all these days and times are this coming week.  If so, I'm out as I'll be on vacation in Maine with only sporadic internet access.

I thought it was a great episode.  Maybe the best of the entire series.  The cinematography and the battle choreography was amazing.  I'd compare it favorably with Braveheart and I'm astounded that this quality can be produced for television.  The budget must have been immense for this episode!

Nice work Wolfdrop!  Very clever and creative.  I never realized the Scarlet Spires had a snake as part of their heraldry.

Triskele,

What Locke said.  Think of the sound a winch or ratchet makes as it pulls a very heavy object.

I'll tag on to this question...

The scene that Sciborg refers to is maddeningly vague.  I've read that section multiple times and have read the Great Ordeal ARC so I have the benefit of the additional info that the newest book provides.  I still can't satisfactorily parse that scene.  I've heard rumors (maybe on the old Three Seas fourm?) that portions of this scene were edited out and that, in hindsight, you weren't terribly happy with the resulting version that made it to the book.

Will you please, please, please (pretty please with sugar on top!) shed what light you can on this scene?  What was edited out? What, if anything, went wrong?  If you could rewrite this section would you change it given the near universal confusion it seems to have caused.  Can you give us the original couple of paragraphs here?

Thank you very much for taking the time to answer these questions and thanks so much for the enjoyment these books have provided.

Wilshire,

I trust your creative judgment.  Choose the edition that you think most appropriate and choose colors that you would like.  I'm not picky and I'll buy.

Lot of good speculation in there!  I like where you're going with this.

Here are the remaining from the last 50 pages...

p. 443 “…but the image (of) Theliopa so…ruined…” – 6th line from bottom
p. 468  “Tiresome pendant (pedant). – 12th line from top
p. 484  “The wane (wan) image of his…  - Middle of page
p. 487  “The boy sought merely sought asylum”  or “The boy sought (…) merely sought asylum” - 9th line from top

There is also the issue of the decapitants being mentioned as "...bound to his (Kellhus') girdle" when Kellhus met Esmi in Momemn.  Given that Kellhus has previously taken one of the heads and used it on the body of Malowebi this might be a continuity error.  It might also be intentional misdirection on Bakker's part thus I didn't want to say for certain it was an error.

Gentlemen...My work here is done!  ;D

If only we knew someone who could get in touch with Bakker and get his thoughts on the possibility!

I was a member of a board that was dedicated to the writings of Steve Donaldson (Thomas Covenant series).  Although I didn't end up attending, a group of members (probably 10 or 20 people) from that board set up a meeting in New Mexico (Where Donaldson resides) with Donaldson near where he lived.  They essentially just made reservations at a local bar/restaurant and Donaldson was kind enough and cool enough to agree to come and have some food, beers and conversation with a few of his most dedicated fans.  This was in 2002 I think.

Bakker seems like an easy going guy.  Why not see if he would be interested in grabbing beers and food with some of his fans at a local eatery in London, Ontario or some other place of his choosing?  Who turns down free beer?!?!

Nice review...Although he mistakenly states that Nil'Giccas is the current king of Ishterebinth when it is actually Nin'ciljiras.
