I think only teleportation gets you out of that mess.  Whether it is via Saccarees or Serwa I think the Road Metagnostic was the only way out of there.

I want to say there was another reference, somewhere, to someone leaving their name in 'the Scripture that would follow'.  I think there are a few places where we get references to future historians having some knowledge of the Ordeal, which implies to me that Serwa is alive and successfully teleports some people away.

I honestly thought this WAS the end until I heard from the AMA that there would be another series.  I think this is a fine ending.  Not all worlds can be saved.

I think, absent Kellhus, his lieutenants and descendants can still reign in the Ordeal enough to keep it on track.

Sorweel kills Kellhus, Serwa kills Sorweel.  All else is as cannon.  I don't think Serwa can kill Kelmomas, since he will be the No-God, but she doesn't have to.  Story can proceed if she inherits Kellhus's destraction, doesn't have time for little child.

Battle opens as per cannon, with Ordeal overcoming the walls.

When the Fisherman strikes down Serwa, the Ordeal no longer has Kellhus to teleport up, meaning he snipes mages with impunity.  The big question now is whether Serwa, while under fire, can manage a teleport to get up there and kill the Fisherman.

I tend to think she can.  She pulls this off, kills the Fisherman, is killed by Aurang, who takes up the Spear.  The Ordeal is driven forth from Golgotterath and massacred by the backup Horde's arrival.  Kelmomas is seized by skin spies and born to the Sarcophagus, and Resumption.

Only major impacts are that one of the Mutilated does not die, nor does Aurang.  There is also no escape for Akka and his family.  A much darker timeline.

The Unholy Consult / Re: [TUC Spoilers] - Cnaïur/Ajokli theory

The No-God rewrites the Gods every time it interferes with their plans, right?  That is, their agents inhabit a world where they are destined to succeed, and have been so since the dawn of time, a la the WLW.  When Kelmomas fouls their plans the world transitions to one where they have ALWAYS been doomed to fail, and the Gods are overwritten in the same manner.

So when Kelmomas destroyed the first WLW's destiny Yatwer had retroactively never chosen him, her choice all along was Sorweel, who was totally destined to succeed.  When Sorweel was likewise pushed off the rails she presumably had always been pinning all her hopes on whoever her current guy is.

Ajokli is the same way.  He had always been planning to possess Kellhus.  When Kelmomas ruined that it retroactively was never his plan at all.  He had always been planning on using Cnaiur against Kellhus, which he attempts at the finale.

The Unholy Consult / Re: Did The False Sun spoil TUC for you?

Kind of.  It spoiled the motivations of the Consult, which had hitherto been much less clear.  It let me anticipate the Inverse Fire being used as a trap for Kellhus.

I don't think the Hoard can be routed, it is too big to ever know that it is defeated.  I'd say that the No-God pulled the Hoard back for a sec while he did his Kellhus act.

I liked it.  TUC is my favorite in the series.

The Ciphrang version of Malowebi has succeeded in its mission.  Nganka Kul's line is ended, and Zeum is leaderless as the Second Apocalypse begins.

I tend to agree that there was more to Thelliopa than met the eye.  Definitely felt for her going out like that.

One more time, there is no 'you' to be sent careening into the abyss of sranc-tier hedonism.  Causes within, etc.  You will be able to mix and match your personality/emotions like you do smartphone apps.

Finally read this story.  Very strange.

I feel like Damnation is much more fluid than it is made out to be.  I think that Nonman just got lucky about when he died.  He'd normally have been Damned, but a few dozen Ciphrang were busy being trapped in the Inside, Ajokli was in Kellhus, a Topos short circuited the escape route, Resumption was near...take your pick.  I don't think it was a typical outcome, is what I'm trying to say.

Yeah, he would've been protected, but I think that protection was him deciding not to go in, rather than everything missing him.  It is certainly possible.  Like you say, no way to know.

"The inherent antagonism in reality" is a very fancy way to describe a thing that boils down to lighting in meat.  If you want to say that science will fail to understand it, that's absolutely fair, but science's batting average is positively fantastic.

What goes away isn't the 'problems' part of 'your problems', it is the other part.  Science won't understand the 'true nature of the self', it will debunk and debug it.
