Wilshire, for the second example, you could make an argument that "want" would fit in the sense of desire, but I believe the intended meaning was wont. For the first, "want" couldn't fit at all.

  • Chapter 16, section starting with "Nemukus Mirshoa and his Kishyati...", first paragraph.
"more want to rely on skill" should be "more wont to rely on skill"
  • Chapter 19, section starting with "Sunlight fell as a healer's hand..."
"for it was the want of Men to surrender their borders in song" should be "for it was the wont of Men to surrender their borders in song"
This error only occurred twice in TUC, but I believe it occurred many more times in TGO.

I vote leave it down for a few months, maybe till 2018. See if that encourages posting ;)

I was thinking we could disable the forum for a while to see if we can encourage more Quorum participation.

The Great Ordeal is broken and destroyed at Golgotteroth. Achamian stands before the devastation, witnesses legions of Sranc defiling the corpses of the men of the Ordeal. Finally, in waking life, he sees his dreams come true...

The No-God reborn.

TELL ME...

The dread voice, screamed through the throats of a thousand thousand Sranc. The world is doomed. The Heron Spear is lost. The Ordeal has failed. The Three Seas lies in chaos, completely unprepared from the doom that is soon to come upon them. Utterly defeated, Achamian falls to his knees in despair...

DO YOU REMEMBER WHEN I SAID YOU WOULD KNEEL?

Neuropath / Re: Neuropath Kindle version (amazon.com)
« on: June 19, 2016, 12:12:12 am »
This isn't an issue limited to the Kindle edition. I have the Tor mass market edition, first printing, ISBN 978-0-7653-6157-8, and all the chapter-opening italicized sections are missing. I only learned from reading this thread that they're also missing from the USA Kindle edition, and was surprised. I could imagine a plausible motive for removing content from a physical version if it reduced printing costs, but why would it be removed from a digital edition? Censorship?

I'm curious which other editions might be missing the italicized sections. If everyone posted which edition they own and whether the italicized sections and afterword are included, we could put together a list of which editions are complete and which aren't. We know two of the Tor (USA) editions are incomplete - the mass market paperback, and the Kindle e-book. What about the Tor hardcover?
