Nice rhizome, that's a good find for $20. Wish I had seen that one.

Some might be the same ones? Having been read then maybe trying to recoup the price?

Wow - just wrote a whole post taking themerchant's context to be The Great Ordeal Arc Giveaway thread. Jeepers.

I think these still might be people who have sold a number of copies in a row. Wilshire would know better than I.

That would be extremely low for the opposite end of the spectrum from those who have shared theirs here, so long as the reader is still buying the canon artifact, is those who resell their ARC...

I guess that's possible. Certainly not all of them, since there are a few sellers that keep appearing and selling copies. However, that probably only makes up 33% - 50% of the sold books. The other's could be resold, however all the descriptions list "like new" or other such conditions that make me think that the books remain unread. Even fi you're careful, a read book is fairly obvious to spot compared to an unread.

Starting bid is $20.

It's interesting because a member who contacted me said that bookstores, etc, etc, that receive ARCs are explicitly told not to sell them.

But yeah - clearly not fans.

I can understanding selling after the book is released. If you don't care about it, no need to hold onto it. Get it to someone who would appreciate owning it. That said, selling it prior to the release of the book itself seems deplorable. I blame Overlook, mainly, for not properly vetting who they sent books to.

I believe you can just go to the website and sign up to get ARCs. I don't think you get to pick, so people that are selling them just get a bunch of ARCs every month and sell them on Ebay--or at least, that's my impression of how it all works.

I bought my ARC from someone seems to specialize in selling ARCs of all descriptions on eBay.  Most of their negative feedback is from people complaining about being sent uncorrected/advance proofs instead of retail copies!?!
