Title: Wutteat Specs
Post by: SilentRoamer on June 22, 2016, 05:05:13 pm
How large is Wutteat from tip to tail?

How large is his wing span?

How much does he weigh?

Is Wutteats breath completely mundane or is it Sorcerous to some extent?

I can tell you Wutteat's breath is neither mundane nor sorcerous. Otherwise I would just be pulling numbers out of my ass that you can just as easily pull out of your own! ;) There's clues enough, I think, to rough out some estimates.

Thanks Bakker.

The first three questions were pretty meaningless, I just like hard cold stats.

The fourth question was the one I wanted an answer to - the main reason that I could never see how something Mundane could compete or even overpower in the instance of Wutteat enemies using Sorcerous Canting.

I guess the breath somehow ties into the Outside or has something Hell based or Demonic.

:)

As I think I mentioned in response to Locke's question on topos, the boundaries between the World and the Outside can also wear then with individuals, and not simply places. Those souls that are too strong to eat, that go on to become Ciphrang, sometimes begin the transition before they kick the bucket.

oooh nice little gem there. what constitutes a strong soul? Haha and here comes the problem with answers... more questions.

Is that what Mimara was seeing with Kosoter? He was described in "demonic" imagery.

Oh, perhaps Inverse Fire?  ;)

The fires of damnation, or hellfire literally.

If Ciphrangs are strong souls, wouldn't that mean damned sorcerers can sometimes become Ciph only in turn to be enslaved by other Daimotic sorcerers who remained alive? Man that is a hilarious thought.

Would this include atrocities committed by Nonmen?  Seems like millennia of perpetrating horrendous acts would qualify one to become a Ciphrang.  Then again, maybe their souls are too rotted to be considered 'strong' in the Outside by this point in the narrative.  Just makes me wonder about the provenances of one Ciphrang over another, or if that just becomes a moot point.

Is the honeymoon over already?

I also wonder what makes a soul strong in that sense. But I can't help but remember that Bakker was asked on three Seas if Ciphrang are damned souls and he said that they are 'creatures of the outside through and through'.

Potentially no contradiction there. Damned souls aren't nearly the outside enough/aren't nearly demonic enough.
