you are right, it is Akka not Maitha.

I think this might be one of the instances where the glossary to TTT is misleading.

2
Since both the Judging Eye and the WLW play such a prominent role in the books, I figured lumping Kahiht together with them (which Mathai does in WLW) was a big fat authorial clue...to what, I don't know.

3
So Fane and Triamis are both Kahiht and therefore sacred?

The White-Luck Warrior / Re: Kellhus ultimate goal?

I actually thought the threat to Kellhus would have been chorae wielding skin spies rather than the Mages. None of the Consult seemed to have achieved any acts of great valour in the Second Apocalypse...if Akka can hold off Cleric, Kellhus can kick Quya ass.

If he wants the Tekne, why not simply join the Consult?

I can think of few limits to his ability to travel to places or accomplish assassinations. As Mimara rightly realises Kellhus could simply have appeared in Akka's tower. The same goes (more or less) for Ishterebinth or Golgoterath or Ishual.

There are already hints that the Great Ordeal is simply a vehicle for transporting the Schools to Golgoterrath. There's a reason he wants the Nonmen there too, impending betrayal notwithstanding.

I agree with you that TUC is going to be a revelation....

Thanks for the welcome Madness. I don't know how much I have to contribute tbh, everything i've thought about this series has been teased out at length somewhere on this forum!  But it's great to be hear, and read through all the posts from people who had the same thought I did and expressed it so well....

The Thousandfold Thought / Re: Why did Moenghus leave Ishual

This is a speculation that I have raised before.

So many apparent coincidences suggest that its either all a part of some ancient plan of the dunyain founders that Kellhus is ignorant of, or the Whore or the solitary god manipulating fate on a massive scale.

If we take the interpretation of the white luck as a manipulation of causality, could we interpret the dunyain quest as one to obtain mastery of the power of the gods?  Could the no-god itself be important to the dunyain objectives?

This. I assumed it was a divine agency such Anagke. Do we have any basis to believe the Solitary God exists?. Cishaurim Moenghus suggests Fanimry (and the Solitary God) is just a myth....

The most memorable scenes, where you see RSB's noschii, are the scenes where Dunyain confronts Dunyain. Inrilatus v Maithanet, Kellhus v Moenghus.

Also, it's a small scene, but when Akka asks Kellhus - why didn't you heal him in relation to Xinemus. It's brilliantly done!
