This one reminds me much of The Holy War marching through Kian, especially the first minute:

Welcome to the best forum ever. Dûnyain eh?
1-Have you tried saying " The Logos is without beginning or end " in your head continually for a few hours?
2- Have you tried reading people's faces and figuring the Shortest Path?
3- Have you ever wished you had a secret room which contains several skinned faces to train yourself ?
4- How many people have called you a Holy Prophet so far?
5-Have you grasped the Absolute or The Thousandfold Thought?

Hello guys, myself and Diurnal began playing Age Of Empires 2 online from a week and so far it has been freaking amazing. We want to see if anybody would be willing to join us. If you are interested, get the game from Amazon or Steam ( Diurnal can fill you out there, you need to have a specific edition to play with us ) and then I will tell you how to connect with us.For those who don't know the game it is a real time medieval strategy videogame and one of my top favs of all time, I heartily recommend it.You can search in the Internet to see more of the game.

Philosophy & Science / Re: 'Floating' meaning and music videos
« on: October 21, 2016, 11:53:52 pm »
The whole world right now is about people displaying themselves or their stuff, not just music "videos".
True, but they hide behind more and more layers of ambiguity so pointing them out is difficult. Better to use a clear cut example, then it's easier for folk to extrapolate from there to uncover the more ambiguous examples.

So yeah, that everyone is sheering away in what they fitness they display Vs how they actually get their food and shelter, that's my main point. Economies - ie, the way you get food and shelter, based on ignoring how you get food and shelter.
I agree with you there. So the whole world is one big complex music video with the actors not really knowing what they are doing.

There's lots in scifi if you go looking for it. Stranger in a Strange Land is an excellent example.
Yup I agree with you but there is not much in fantasy.

Finished Stranger in a Strange Land. Good book. Gets a little weird but overall very entertaining. 12

Started The Way of Shadows by Brent Weeks. So far, a good, quick read. Lots of action, not a lot of philosophical musings.
I don't think you would find much philosophical musings outside of Bakker or Erikson... Sadly.

So GMT +2?  That put you 9 hours ahead of me and approximately 6 hours ahead of most of the usual offenders. Seems like a late night for us and an early morning for you would be most beneficial?
I am more of a night guy so I wouldn't mind the opposite at all.

Speaking of which, anyone up for a Podcast in the coming days?  I had a couple thoughts on subject matter, but would like to see if there is any interest?
Count me in! Though time zones would be a huge problem, I will see what I can do. I will "probably" make time for it.

Whoa... Damnation and The Outside??! Lol it is just some religious extremism just like the crusades. So nothing new at all. ISIS, Al-Qaeda are all just some stupid people. It amazes me how is it that countries don't take some SERIOUS action. They just talk. Also I am an Egyptian if that counts anything.

I have finished a trilogy called "Raven's Shadow"  by Anthony Ryan, pretty awesome stuff. I think the first book is a total masterpiece, the second is not as good but still very awesome and the same with the third.I recommend this series.

Can you give me a spoiler free review of those books? Not the first time I've heard of them.
The first one is a coming of age book. Imagine Harry Potter but Hogwarts is a military school, the teachers are harsh and students can die during tests. Then when you have completed your training you get send to wars and random battles to defend the main religion of the continent. The first one is pretty neat, many fight scenes and mysteries of the world. Awesome and very adult character development. At times the book can get quite touching. The second was also a very good book but different from the fist in many things. Some people didn't like the second and the third but I did. Just don't expect more of the same. Also the author said that there will be more books in the world with the surviving characters.Overall I can say give it a shot. It is worth it.

Did someone mention me?!  Lol though since the first time I have heared this statement I have been looking for them with no success. Wilshire where did you hide them?

Twice now people have brought up that Bakker has "affluent 20-something fans" and "rich and handsome fans." Wilshire and I are looking for their support in promoting Bakker ;).

Maybe it is our intricate and well thought out theories, that lead them to believe that to be the case. I know I sound like a rich, affluent man of high standing, and i would think nothing less of the other posters here at SA. Hey, we're a cut above. :)
