Title: References in the Series

I realized today that Mimara's sword is called 'Chipmunk,' and Arya Stark's in ASOIF is 'Squirrel.' Could this be a reference? I know GRRM loves to fill his books with references and in the ASOIF series there is Cthulu, the Three Stooges, his old publishing house (the House of Tor). Maybe Bakker isn't as big into the references as Martin but has anyone found any weird side characters or lore that might be a reference to something else?

I imagine most of the references or even something less, maybe just a nod in the direction of another work, are more geared towards philosophy and language. Someone less informed like myself might not realize that Gnosis isn't even a made up word, for example.
