I used this today to select some books to read.
So thanks to all who contributed, unless the books are shite, then cheers for nothing :P

What did you pick? Hope they work out. I've gotten through about half of the books at least on my list above, and there are a lot of average ones, with a couple really great books and a couple really bad ones.

Blindsight. I'm hoping to get a couple of baths out of it.

Good choice. Of all the stuff that's been recommended on this forum, I think Blindsight is one of the best. It soothes that Bakker itch.

Just finished the first part. It's really good so far. Had to go back and re-read a couple of things to get all the characters names into my head and their "occupations" but every book is like that for me.

60% of the way through, yeah, this is a really good book. Really enjoying it.

I've been on the hunt for books with characters similar to Proyas. Looking for some recs.
Oddly enough, Ganeos Paran(Malazan) reminds me a little of him. Only Paran is not quite as emotional or religious. So for him, there's no faith to break. Heh.
