It is now 100 days until the release of The Great Ordeal, we must remember that answers are like opiates and sober men find solace in mystery. Are long journey is nearly over and the Coffers await us all.

Wow.
-
No ticking off days on the slog.
-
Already told my boss I might have to take a day off in early July to read a book.
"But you read books here all the time."
"Not like this I don't."

I read at work a good deal myself. Though, I feel i need a few days alone at the river when the book is released.

That sounds awesome

I read outside, usually on patios or around a fire, whenever it's not the wintry overcast of Canada's main season. My all-time favorite nostalgic spot to read was a tree-branch about 10 feet up in our front yard when I was 6-12.
But I absolutely do recommend - obviously - that you read the next volume somewhere undisturbable with whatever assortment of complimentary vices your reading experience demands.

My b/d is 2 july, my vacation is 3-18, so... A perfect summer awaits. :3

A round table read-a-long with the sultry sounds of Madness and MG as narrator.

I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel, I already ordered the book and I am debating whether to pay for 1 day delivery or the standard shipping. The one day nearly doubles the price, but I am not sure I can wait the week until delivery.
-
Ship it to where you're going to be?
-
The slog is going to hell as the destination looms, watch out for Stone Hags they'll smell our weakness!!!
Anyway i'll get a selection of snacks and munchies, then lie on my bed reading, when i get to a section of the book I know is going to be good, i stop and run a bath to read it in. Examples of where i would stop to run the bath would be, Kellhus is about to meet his dad in TTT, the meeting at the end of TDTCB which cnaiur and Kellhus attend. Army of the south making it;s stand in WLW.
I got WLW shipped from Canada next day delivery paying top, top, dolla for delivery(several times the books price), The Delivery guy was laughing at me cause i was out of my house waiting at his van before he even got parked. It better come out the same day over here, or i'll need to do the same thing.
-
themerchant, you might just want to read it in the bath ;).
-
I'll come out wrinkled like Sarl by the end lol and just as sane :D

I flinched for a moment, but did indeed double my price with the one day shipping. Treating myself. Or at least my ravenous hunger.

I hope they can get a Kindle version up so I can skip the delivery anxiety and just start at midnight.

That's called cheating Bolivar, you have to sit around and wait like the rest of us. Only heretics would read it at midnight, we would have to scourge you in the old way.

I neither beg nor expect your pardon: It is our doom to suffer the consequences of our acts, regardless of the piety of our intentions.

I don't think I've ever seen an only hardcover release by Bakker before, to be honest. Penguin always released a paperback of some sort.
-
Pretty typical in the US to have hardcover initial release
-
The one i got for WLW was trade paperback, really poor quality started disintegrating (i've told this story about 10 times now).

Never buy anything from Overlook Press if it can be avoided.
