What if Kellhus implanted a fake map in the Coffers?

What about:
1) Moving Philosophy & Science, The Forum of Interesting Things , Writing, Literature , and RPG Discussion down to the bottom of the page, call it the General Discussion forum, and make it's header something like "Other topics(Non-Earwa)", and
2) Move Misc. Chatter out of "general discussion", with no subforums, and moving it down to Earwa underneath Atrocity Tales. This can remain the "catch-all" Earwa thread that it is now, but it will still have the effect your looking for.
I think this thread is hilarious. Everyone noting when they dropped out.
In the light of what has been said above, what happens is that the Inchoroi intruded into the superconsciousness of Eärwa which emerged from the minds of mankind (and, prior to that, the Nomen) which shaped reality and, to a much greater degree, the nature of the Outside. In their own world, there was either no superconsciousness, or it was of a very different nature as it was dominated by Inchoroi minds, but on Eärwa the Inchoroi (especially after the wars against Nomen) were a minority and the nature of the Outside was dominated by mankind, leaving no influence to them. As a result, they were caught up in a reality which did not judge them by their own standards, and therefore damned by the superconsciousness of Eärwa, the God. The role of the human members of the Consult is rather similar, although they lack the 'excuse' that their amoral conduct is genuinely part of their nature.
Thought I would write this up because some things really bothered me on my read through of TDTCB.
- Stupidity:
- Upon leaving Ishual Kellhus:
- Did not have a map
- Did not know where he was going
- Did not have any survival skills (No ability to hunt, trap, or forage. No idea what was safe to eat in the forest)
- Was not dressed for winter, despite the fact that it was it was Autumn and Ishual is high up in the mountains.
- Had no idea how dangerous sranc were.
- Allows his body to waste away without using his amazing Dunyain intellect to figure out how to find food in a forest
Yeah, I'm on Goodreads (participate little) but I didn't recognize the distinction as Wilshire suggested. I'm not sure if that distinction is apparent outside of Goodreads though. A review and a rating do seem like two aspects of the same thing to me: a review is the reasoning by which you make your rating?
Its a damn shame he doesnt get more attention, he has such a unique voice. I was really skeptical of him trying something not fantasy, but I loved it.
