I like to rotate the music I listen too pretty regularly.  Good for the brain, I reckon.

Latest addition to the play list.

Pallbearer - Sorrow and Extinction.
Doom metal
8/10

Doom and stoner/physcadelic(?) rock are the perfect companions to a Bakker book. On my rotation
Wo fat (soooo good)
The sword (check out apocryphon, it has some very Bakker etc themes)
Gorilla pulp
Monkey3 (my current favorite)
All them witches (another favorite especially if you don't mind some blues with your sludge)

First-time visitor to this thread, so I've got a lot.

Muse seems incredibly on-topic with Absolution. Really good, fairly deep. Their other albums are great too, but Absolution is really on-point. It's the most mainstream thing I've ever encountered that tries to address the same same topics as Bakker's books.

Lacuna Coil is pretty engaging. Dark Adrenaline is really fun, Broken Crown Halo is good but nothing to get excited about.

Affiance is really heavy-handed trying to address the same themes as Bakker, but at least they have a good baseline. The Campaign is a solid album.

(And then because I'm new to the thread, I'm always listening to Panic! At the Disco, who are always relevant to some degree.)

Love Muse. I've seen them a handful of times in concert with a friend of mine who goes religiously.

I was going through a box the other day and found STP's Purple. No case, no context, just the CD, which has to be more than 20 years old at this point. I've been listening to it in the car the last couple of days and basking in the nostalgia. Great album. Also, to zig rather than zag, I've been listening to a ton of Marvin Gaye and Otis Redding lately, good times.

Not really a huge fan of Muse but my favorite song of theirs (Thoughts of a Dying Atheist) happens to be on Absolution...
