General Earwa / Re: Cishaurim

Moe the Elder wasn't described as salting. Nor did it seem to be instantaneous like other chorae hits.

No, because he needed Cnaüir strength to transfer his soul either into Cnauir or whoever the hell Meppa was. Clearly, IMHO, the chorae being used on Moe by Cnaüir was no accident. That was planned.

:-\ dammit. page 387 of TTT
Moenghus gasped, jerked, and spasmed as Cnaiiur rolled the Chorae across his cheek. White light flashed from his gouged sockets. For an instant, Cnaiir thought, it seemed the God watched him though a mans skull.
What do you see?

But then his lover fell away, burning as he must, such was the force of was had possesses them.

UM did The No-God look through Moes eyes. Cnaiir believes his god is dead, The No-God is the Scylvendi God, right?

Now that sir is very interesting! Also no mention of salting neither. I seem to remember the consensus that the Cish kinda flash out of existence.

You're right she was just a figure head who was out of favor. Also, everyone believes Kelmommas to be missing. So, he might not even be a worry to Yatwer/WLW.

OK, so what I think happens is pretty simple. Kelmommas is infatuated with Esement. That's all he cares about is his moms love. And, the tunnels that Kellhus built where obviously built for a reason. Tada, those are Kelmommas's personal playground at the moment. All it would take is for the WLW to come to Esme's room to murder her, and Kelmommas be keeping an eye out for such a thing. You have to admit he's pretty handy with that skewer. And, its funny you mention Yatwer would have to be blind to it, he's already murdered Yatwer's head priestess.

I think I've written a post about this before, but, ibelive Kelmommas is gonna be the WLW's undoing. That's where I think his story line is going. I think Kellhus knows exactly what's up with Kelmommas and he's his tool and Esement is the bait.

Feel free to merge this. I looked for it and my tiny brain couldn't find one. I figured there was one, sorry.

For the brief time we meat this most intriguing man, he strike me as if he was in the know. I believe he had grasped TTT and maybe what he revealed to Kellhus, left Kellhus with only one option; chaining him and calling him crazy. I believe he knew what his dad's plans were and that they weren't necessarily for the good of the world. Just would of loved to know what exactly was going on is his mind. He was so interesting. Just wondering what other thoughts you guys might have about him. Such a truly great character, whom I believe knew a whole lot about what was really going on.

General Earwa / Re: On the Nature of the No-God
« on: August 01, 2015, 09:17:09 pm »
That would be interesting too if somehow birth could only occur if Yatwer were in Her natural place in the Outside and bringing Her into Earwa is what prevents birth.

But then I'm trying to figure out what the other implications would be if one could summon others...like if one summoned the god of disease would disease no longer happen?  That doesn't seem to make as much sense.

But I do think that the use of the word "summoned" suggests it's some kind of agency from the Outside.

Really never thought of this before, but it really does make a lot of sense. Great speculation!

Does anyone seriously think the WLW is the product of Cnaüir and his ummmm, love making to Yatwer so to speak? I know it's more of a running joke, but damn wouldn't that be awsome?

This from Anaturinbor over on Westeros:

I should have said 'if someone has to go into the carapace' as I'm not completely on-board with that idea. But on a reread it seemed to me that Bakker has been prepping Achamian to become the NG from the very beginning. Could be part of Seswatha's grand plan even.

We was discussing who if anyone would placed in the carapace of the No-God. Thought it could be relevant to this discussion. Though I'm not of the opinion its true, I won't discount it. Thought its was interesting and something I haven't heard suggested before.

I agree, it changes nothing. Either they were isolated from Kellhus as Wilshire says, or someone outside the Dûnyain manipulating them.

Wel, one thing pointed out that doesn't kill the thought of Seswatha behind them, but certainly renders them useless. Is Kellhus would've sensed the Mark on them if they knew magic. Unless, as Nerdanel said, he just doesn't reveal that to the reader. I never thought of that before, and is a great point.

Also, since I'm about halfway through TDTCB, my 3rd reread. I've seen a couple things early that point to Seswatha being a bigger part of this story. First, I believe right of the bat Seswatha is starting to manipulate Akka's dreams. He notes in one of his first dreams we see that when he looks in the mirror he see's himself and not Seswatha, notes how odd that is. Secondly, when he's meeting with Inrau and Sarcellus knocks him to the ground he whispers in Akka's ear, "Oh, how I've longed to do that!". Right there is a skin spy speaking to Seswatha and you would never pick that up unless on a reread. And, it enforces the idea, to me, that Seswatha is part of this thing hands on. It actually shocked me when I read it, like a subtle clue left so early on.

Ime pretty sure every Skin-Spy has spoken to Seswatha thru the Mandati. Chigra Almost as if instead of seeing the mark the Skin-spys see him

Right, they always do. Just this instance none of that is explained as of yet. And what it said to me is that they've (skins spies) have been waging this war with the Mandate (Seswatha) since they've been around. Seswatha is their true enemy, not Akka or any other Mandate Schoolmen. And, like I was saying, upon first read you would think Sarcellus is just speaking to Akka. He's not though, he's saying that to Chigra (Seswatha). Almost as if Akka meant nothing to him, he was just so satisfied to smack Seswatha.

There is the option that this is a huge pissing contest between Shae and Seswatha though.

I'd say that is exactly what is going on. But, there are some huge stakes in this pissing contest.......
