That's fucking amazing Somm. Love the rendition of the Heron Spear as well. Fantastic work all around.

Kellhus (or Warrior-Jesus, ha!), more a thematic piece than anything.

I think I need to carve a Circumfix on my forehead.  I'm then going to supplicate myself before the Holy Emperor.  If you all will excuse me.

Seriously, this is going to be my laptop background for a few weeks.  Par Excellence as usual Som.

I really like the imagining of the Ciphrang.

Great job as always, Somnambulist. I'm sure you'll be doing art for an official volume someday.

Cheers for the comments, guys.

lol Hirtius/Pansa.  Waiting for the moment in the books where the whole Ordeal kneels before Kellhus at the same time, gouging their eyes out for his glory, etc.  You know what I'm talking 'bout.  ;)
Wilshire:  Could be, I didn't really have a specific scene in my head, just more of a 'Kellhus Our Savior' kinda thing.
Madness: That would be more than cool.  Still have so much technique to work on till then.  (sigh)

Som that is seriously awesome.

I used to draw a lot of sketch art as a kid (generic fantasy art) but haven't drawn anything in a long time.

Your stuff is fantastic and makes me want to try some TSA fan art.

Might be better leaving it to the Pros!

Thanks, SR.  You should definitely try some fan art.  Would love to see it.  I had the same sorta story as you.  Used to draw D&D portraits/characters for my friends a loooooong time ago, but nothing really in years.  I'm definitely not a professional illustrator, though.  I'm in the art field, but more along the lines of product design and production (so, not very creative most times).  It really just got to the point that I needed a creative outlet, so started doing these in my spare time.  Anyway, rambling...

Som what did you use to make it digital? Looks like you drew it and then digitised some stuff in?

Just curious.

It's all digital, from initial sketch through to final illustration.  I use a Wacom tablet and pen with Photoshop.  So, it is 'hand drawn' but entirely digital.

EDIT:

Here's the sketch I started out with.

Well it looks great. Gives it a kind of new-age comic book feel.

I find it really amusing... like someone from 2014 went back and photographed the middle-ages... Or like there is an Inchoroi we don't know about hanging out using advanced tech to document Earwa's history.

Which Wacom tablet do you use?

I imagine the Gnostic sorceries as big geometric diagrams flying about all crazy and that digital art just seems to fit how I imagine it.

I like your Inchie in rotten armour as well, looks a right horrible bastard.

It's a Wacom Intuos Pen (small).  Basically, the cheapest Wacom I could get, but I love it.
