Wow, interesting stuff.  I think Akka has already been "awakened" to the fact that there is a greater power at play, but he believes it's Fate rather than Kellhus/TTT.

Quote
In Marrow, Achamian had mentioned the Coffers the way a trapper baits his snare, as a crude goad meant to drive crude men.  But now...
His lie.  Fate was making his lie true.

His "the Shrial Knights must be punished" moment.  Then right after that

Quote
But this moment, Achamian knew, had already been decided: There were no forks in the road before them.  The Whore was driving them like slaves beaten toward a captor's capital.

I don't think he has enough knowledge of the Dunyain at the moment to put all the pieces together, but he is heading to Ishual...

Recklessness and overconfidence don't seem like traits a race of immortals obsessed with avoiding death would have.  Especially when they've just had who knows how many of them wiped out when the Ark crashed.  Thinking about it some more that's probably why they attacked, they panicked after losing so many in the crash along with whatever technology they lost or was fading, and they figured it was now or never.

+1 for listening while excercising.  It also has the added benefit of motivating me to get off my ass and do something if I know a cool part is coming up.  What I like about audiobooks is they force me to hear all the words, when I'm reading I tend to rush and miss things.

How long they waited isn't clear but inciting the rebellion and meeting the other Nonmen in battle at Pir Pahal almost has to be the first action the Inchoroi took after coming out of the Ark and Sil was right in the middle of that battle.

It could be that the "rank and file" of the Inchoroi didn't know about their damnation and were happy just to rape and pillage planets, but they wouldn't be the ones making the decisions anyway

It strikes me as odd that the first Inchoroi plan seemed to be open battle and war with the Nonmen.  Even if they did manage to seal the Outside wouldn't anyone that already died still be damned for all eternity?  Why not start with peace while they developed their weapons races, the Womb-Plague, etc?

I like the AE reader better also, some of the voices the reader does in the first trilogy take me out of it, Cnaiur in particular sounds like a bad Arnold impersonation.

Right before that part he mistakes him for the No-God so it's unlikely they've seen them in a long time but if stories of "The Great Ruiner" have been passed down through the generations it's possible they also have stories/had contact with the Inchoroi in the past.

It's referring to Aurax from the POV of the captured Werigda chieftan.  My guess would be that it's just their name for the Inchoroi.

I don't think that Meppa is Dunyain he doesn't seem to wield that much influence over Fanayal from what we've seen.  Although if his amnesia story is true maybe the Chorae breaking the possession spell messed up his consciousness/soul somehow and it is Moenghus but he doesn't know it.

Admittedly there's not a whole lot of evidence for it, more of a feeling I got.  The description of the talents and limits of Moenghus reminded me of when Kellhus was thinking about what Akka told him Aurang would be capable of when he possessed Esmi.  It would also provide an alternate explanation to Kellhus' assumption of why "Mallahet" was so weak in terms of the Water but so strong in other areas.  Also, the way he says he needs Cnaiur's strength I believe he may have been planning on possessing him before he Chorae'd him.  Maybe when you're dealing with ensouled creatures it's not just a matter of being able to posses anyone you need some kind of consent or at least a deep connection with the person.

Very interesting listen, I've been curious about how the Cishaurim react to Chorae, it seems odd that for all the mention of how it kills them as well as anyone who bears the mark, no one comments that it kills them any differently than turning them to salt.  The only first hand account I could find was when Proyas throws his Chorae at the Cishaurim in Shimeh where it's described as "the saffron figure plummeted like a sodden flag."  Almost every other time a sorcerer is killed by Chorae there's some mention of them turning into salt statues, it's definitely suspicious that's it's not remarked upon when Cishaurim die to Chorae.

Also, is it generally accepted that Moenghus is still alive or is that more of a crackpot theory?  The first time I read TTT I didn't question it but reading that part again it sounds more like a description of the Chorae breaking some type of possession spell rather than killing a sorcerer.  Although it could just be the way the Cishaurim react to Chorae I suppose.

I'm not sure how I came by my assumptions, maybe because he couldn't say anything about the third series I thought it would take place in the same world but not necessarily be directly connected to the first two.

I think the idea of "the end" comes from one of his interviews, something about TUC being the end of the story he originally conceptualized all those years ago.

That's the impression I always had before I started reading some of these threads.  I had heard about the possible third trilogy but I thought "The Second Apocalypse" would be finished after the next book.

I've gotten to points where I didn't really like what I was reading/watching anymore but I felt like I invested so much time that I just wanted to see "the end".(Lost and ASOIAF mostly)  When something is really good though the speculation and the re-reads while waiting for the next volume are probably better than the initial read to me.  I do have the tendency to miss things in my haste to get to the end on my first reads too though.
